He had been sick, but I did not realize he was THIS sick. He only stepped away from being the public face of Apple a few months ago, I think.

Not an Apple person either, but sad to see a great innovator go...especially since he didn't get to enjoy retirement.

I remember what a mess Apple was before he came back. Previous two CEOs were trying to fix Apple via cost cutting. First thing Jobs said when he came back was that cost cutting wasn't going to get them anywhere. He said they were going to innovate their way out of their problems. He was right. What a leader.

Many businessmen lose site of this philosophy. Cutting costs always seems to be the surefire way to right a ship. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but ultimately it only works for the short term. Companies win because they have the best product or offer better services, that should be the goal. Too many get caught up on just the almighty dollar.

"The world has lost a visionary. And there may be no greater tribute to Steve's success than the fact that much of the world learned of his passing on a device he invented." —President Obama tonight on the passing of Steve Jobs

Modern day Thomas Edison, and that's no exaggeration.

If a CEO thinks business for the coming year will be down, the easiest way to insure he's right is to cut back on Customer Service, Advertising and R&D.

The despicable Westboro Baptist Church has announced it will be picketing Steve Jobs' funeral. This announcement was tweeted from an iPhone:

Edison was a hack. Nikola Tesla was far, far more brilliant.

Don't even compare Steve Jobs to Edison.

I can't say I'm the biggest Apple fanatic because I'm not. As for Jobs being an innovator, I think he was more just a better publicist. He made Apple a true brand that can be respected.

I seriously thought it was a hoax when I found out he passed away. I was saddened to find that I was wrong. RIP
