The game wasn't perfect, but there were A LOT of positives. For me the most impressive part was the running game. Brooks and Bettis... uh... I mean Gray and Wood both had a great game. I loved the 55 yarder by Cierre! I wished he could of gotten to 200, but I'll take it for sure.

Here's my little write up on the game if your interested...

Got 99 Problems, but Purdue Ain’t One.

Enjoy, I have to take the wife shopping after watching football all day yesterday.

Run blocking.

Is it weird that I'm still mad GAIII got knicked on that screen pass? PERFECTLY executed by Dayne and everyone else and if that guy doesn't get a finger on him he is gone.

I was peeved about that too, but I let it go. Pretty satisfying win all in all. I know what your saying though it would have been great to see GAIII burning down the Ross-Ade Stadium sideline and putting 45 points on them.

Running defense and offense and Tommy Rees - 4 jump balls he threw out of bounds.

I can't compliment him AND point out what he needs to improve on? It has to be one or the other?

Sorry Dad, I give credit where credit is due. Get over it.

People are getting bugged by it because for a while now, the only reason you bring up a compliment is so you have an excuse to bag on the kid.

What I thought was impressive, was the 4 white russians, 6 beers and two shots of tequila I was able to hold down after a night of yelling and eating chicken wings.

I said he had a good game besides the overthrows in the redzone. Am I wrong? I didn't credit him for a good game, just to point out the bad, but you can speculate all you want.

If you're a Rees defender, please don't be so sensitive. I tried to compliment the poor guy, sorry for being critical.

Exactly! And Dayne could have gotten some more reps and some actual passing yards.

I'm not a "Rees Defender", I was just explaining to you why everyone keeps telling you to relax on the Rees thing. It's not that you made one isolated comment that people are pointing you out for, its the continued bashing of Rees that people are getting sick of (again, i'm not talking about me, but the board in general).

I really don't think anyone is being sensitive on this. I think you only brought up Rees' play as an intro to bash him. You are continually negative and that is what people are getting down on you about. Frankly, I believe that this is the reaction you were looking for.

Instigator...

If you can determine intentions through the sematics of an internet-based text, then that's truly impressive. No doubt, with technology taking over the way it is, that will be profitably in ~10 years.

Nevertheless, I'm sorry, I thought this was America! (Randy, South Park).

Rees played flawless and there's nothing he could have done better (the 4 overthrows were someone else's fault).

Better?

If we're not allowed to give credit and also remain objective and think critically, then ban me by all means.

Like I said above, running offense, running defense, and Tommy were all impressive (4 redzone overthrows considered. Let our 6'3" all-american and our 6'6" TE make the play on the smaller DBs).

That is an impressive accomplishment! That and Cierre's 190 yards are probably the two most surprising things that took place last night.

It's all good man, don't start going with the "if we can't be objective then ban me" routine.. I too was dissapointed with the red zone misses but the kid nailed 60% of his passes for 3 TDs to 3 different players with no turnovers. He did what we wanted him to do and yet I come on here last night and still see Rees bashing..

Maybe your objectivity was assumed as bashing and you were unfairly targeted. If so, my bad. Im just sick of the crowd that thinks they know better than BK. As if the guy has a better option on the sideline but he's holding out just to drive IrishEnvy members crazy.

I know we're getting spoiled by Floyd, but he could also be mentioned as 'the most impressive'. He's been consistent and an absolute man-child every game.

The fact that I made it from Purdue to Ohio State in three hours and ten minutes.

The Indiana state troopers--or lack thereof--were terrific! :)

The view from the field was that Notre Dame had a "better athlete at every position. The score makes this game seem closer than it really is; it's embarrassing," as the Purdue fan said behind me to his wife on the phone as she came to pick him up in the middle of the third.

Even though we may lose some offensive linemen next year, I'm not entirely worried. Think about it...last year we were starting a lot of new offensive linemen and there were a lot of questions. In the end they were much improved though than the previous squad that had years of experience! They're bigger, stronger...is it the Longo effect? Better offensive line coaching? I don't care, we're dominating though, and I love it. Dominating offensive line means our running backs are no longer making cuts in our own backfield and it'll lead to better prospersity on offense. I think the future is bright, regardless of who is starting.

Hearing a student say...

"Teams that are worse than us have done better against ND this year."

I wish I made that quote up... This guy really thought Purdue was the best team ND has played.

Poor kid. He really must have thought that Rice, Mid Tenn St, and that other beauty college was real competition
