Why are you jacked for 2013 recruiting? I'm only seeing guys that have O$U #1 and ND #2. Who else are we leading for or favorites to land?

So far off the top out my head we already have Elmer and are sitting very well with Butt, Issac, Pocic and Breannan.

Bob Lally

Bob Lally

blally-thanks for the post and the info on your grandfather's hs career. I had no idea that his Cathedral Latin teams were also undefeated. Interesting to say the least!

for you (in case you have never seen this before about your Grandfather). These are Bob Lally's 'bios' from the 1948 (Junior year) and 1949 (Senior) Notre Dame Football Reviews:

1948: Robert Lalley....Irish-German guard from Cleveland, O....broke into the Irish ranks last season when he won his first monogram and has been among the top Notre Dame linemen ever since...a driving defensive player and deadly blocker, Bob stacks up as one of the best Irish prospects for next year....was teamed with squad mate Frank Gual at Cleveland's Cathedral Latin High School, where he won two football and three track letters....was twice named to All-State honors....is a rabid follower of the Cleveland Indians and names pitcher Gene Bearden his favorite sports figure...a junior in Commerce,Bob is also the vice-president of his class....he plans to enter business after graduation.

1949:Robert Lalley - Bob is a senior guard from Cleveland, Ohio. Noted for his fine linebacking, he has won three monograms at ND. He is in Law School and intends to practice after graduation. He graduated from Cathedral Latin high school in Cleveland, where he earned two letters in football and three in track. He was named to the Ohio all-state team in high school for two successive years. bob says his favorite pastime is collecting stamps. (He calls himself a philatelist). His most memorable moment on the football field was throwing halfback Bobby Jack Stuart for an eleven yard loss in the 1947 Notre Dame-Army game.

just thought you'd enjoy the above if you hadn't seen them before.

CA S Su'a Cravens was thrilled when we offered earlier this month. Said it was the offer he was waiting for, and that included offers from Oklahoma and I think Bama.

Also in the early Top 2 for Jalin Marshall, Jaylon Smith, and (apparently) Tim Kimbrough.

Love the apostrophe! That is until the Ice Princess butchers his name during the game. The Humanity.

Added offers from Syracuse, Duke, and Northwestern.

Receiving interest from Ohio State, Michigan, MSU, PSU, Miami, Stanford, Oregon, and others.

We are still his #1.

Through seven games he has nine sacks and he’s caught 20+ passes for 350 yards and four TDs.

Good morning, everyone. I've been a member of Irish Envy for years, and an outside observer for even longer, and thought this would be an opportune time for my first post.

Jake is one of my 30+ cousins from my Father's side of the family and, after checking this website religiously for years, words cannot describe how proud I was to see a thread dedicated to his recruiting and interest in ND. As noted, our grandfather, Bob Lally, played for Coach Leahy and won three national championships during his playing career. Cape cod noted that he never played in a losing game at ND, which is true, but our grandfather also never played in a losing game during his four year high school football career at Cathedral Latin in Cleveland. Eight years and never a single lose; really quite amazing, if I may say so.

I am certainly very proud of and excited for Jake, and hope he lands an ND offer soon. In the meantime, I look forward to interacting with you all and please know how much I appreciate all of your contributions to this site.

Very cool, my grandfather was also a member of the 1946 recruiting class. It was soooooo freaking deep that despite being an all state end (when "all state" consisted of 11 total players) and later earning induction into the Indiana football HOF he didn't advance past freshman football there.

I would love for Jake to walk in his grandfather's footsteps at ND.

Same city as Eilar Hardy.

I thought same school at first. I was wrong.

Eilar went to Pickerington Central. Jake goes to Pickerington North.

Central has always been the football school out of the two, but in recent years, North has started to gain a little bit of ground.(North only opened in 2004) The two Pickerington schools played a few weeks back, Central was expected to roll, but North held their own. I think the Final was 24-21. Just a little bit of useless info i thought i would share.

Maryland and Purdue offered.

I'm assuming Mr. Butt laughed hysterically before hanging up.

Committed to Michigan today. Looks like we missed our shot here by not offering.

Yeah, consensus :s::s::s: with a :s::s::s:::s:, #70 overall prospect rating from 24/7. Good call bro.
He's really rated that high? His BCS offers are Cuse, Maryland, Northwestern, UCLA, and Purdue. Not exactly a top 100 offer list

Obviously has a Michigan offer..., and it is verrry early.

Thank you...it is VERY early.

It's funny...when we get a 3 star, he's underrated and he's an RKG and he has huge upside. When Michigan gets a 3 star we were happy not to have him and they can gladly have that 'nobody'.

Fans are funny sometimes. And by funny I mean stupid and myopic.

I give up. I didnt take into account that these guys arent deciding until Jan '13 as opposed to Jan '12. He's 6'6" and has a great frame to develop into a 4-3 end .

Just wondering where it says he committed to Michigan? 24 7 or rivals haven't confirmed it. Butt doesnt even have a michigan offer?

even if he did commit, this is far from over imo...if we get in with his family ties to ND a lot can change.

GB is right, Butt most definitely did not commit to Michigan. As he said Michigan didn't even offer.

Still an open race for Mr. Butt.
