Nelson would be more of a shocker than Cyrus.

Agreed. I've said from the beginning that USC will be tough to beat. Anybody that travels TWICE to USC all the way from FL on their own dime has some serious interest in living in Southern California. I think it'll be a USC-FL battle, but I'm glad ND will have a chance to get a foot in the door...

im a frosh here at nd. as it turns out, my best friend actually goes to berkeley prep and knows nelson. while she said he does love usc, i think as you guys stated before the fact that hes coming is a great thing, and the fact hes coming for Air Force shows hes not in it just to watch SC play. my friend is putting me in contact with him, and I just wanted your input to make sure that I would not be committing any NCAA violations if i talked to him, etc, and ill do whatever i can to encourage him to come to ND obviously haha, but my friends been in his ear all year for me

About 1000% sure that would be a violation. Don't do it (even though I'm sure it goes on everywhere). Your friend is OK b/c she knows him, but her putting you, a ND student with a vested interest in him coming to ND, in contact with him is a definite no-no...

If you've done anything to rep ND-- even something as innocuous as a single tweet-- you're technically a booster. Just don't offer him anything that you could put a monetary value on, and you should be fine.

Take out your life savings, liquidate all of your family's assets that you can get your hands on and offer it to him and hook him up with some mynx, all in the name of ND.

Kidding, of course.

Maybe your friend can take one for the team. Our team that is.

If you talk to him (which is okay) don't try to tell him what is good about ND and why he should come here. The coaches are already doing that. Just be friendly, but not creepy, overly friendly. Don't treat him like a recruit, but like a possible friend.

Good move, jimmy.

Technically it would be a violation as you are a student, a representative of UND, without a prior relationship (before ND started recruiting him).

I know a ND player and his family who were contacted about 10 years ago by the father of a recruit that he had played against in HS. The recruit's father contacted the player's father about sitting down to talk at home. They all lived in the same town knew each other as kids but went to different HS. The ND father contacted the ND NCAA Compliance Officer (a UND employee) as he didn't want to cause a violation. It was determined that there was a sufficient prior relationship so they were allowed to meet BUT the Compliance Officer gave specific instructions on what were allowable and what wasn't.

Recruiting can ONLY be done by the 10 coaches certified by the NCAA to do so. When in doubt call the UND Compliance Officer.

What if, and I mean this seriously, you were a student at another school and approached them and told them not to go to said school.

e.g. you're a USC student and you say "dude seriously you don't want to go to USC, it sorta sucks here trust me. Go to ND."

The one in bold being the key word here. 3 questions, seriously? Did half the interview not load for me or something?

lol..no good sir, that really was it. I suppose I could have just copy and pasted the Q&A.

It's all good. Thanks for posting it. I just wish there were a few more questions. Hard to believe Preston took the time to reach out to him to only publish a 3 question interview. Regardless, this kid is my favorite prospect out there for this year, and landing him would prompt the need for me to change my pants.

An hour!! That seems really long. Must be very interested. Anyone know if an hour is the norm for a recruiting call?

Nelson Agholar is to me as Justin Beiber is to a 14 year old girl. I might faint if he commits.
