Darby is one of the fastest under 18 year olds in the country period.

Seriously who is questioning that?

Per 24/7, he tweaked his groin getting tackled in practice and missed his opener, which was a 14-12 loss. Hopes to play this upcoming week.

He's taking officials. He's been visiting schools all summer. This should not be a surprise. He was at the Maryland vs. Miami game this weekend

But why would he take officials if he's committed ;)

To experience the full effect of recruiting that he will never have a chance to do again. If he really wants to play for ND he will sign in FEB. If not then I wish him the best of luck. DUHHH!!

Why can't I add smileys?

i'll be worried if we keep performing on the field the way we did sat.

No meltdown needed. He can take trips and if he finds a place that he likes better so be it. We are still somewhat in the hunt for Armani, Yuri, Manning, Howard.

Are you kidding me? I understand that you're confident that we can get a replacement if we ever lost him, but I want Nitro. End of story.

That being said, I don't think he goes anywhere because were about to win some games.

I think ND played very well on Saturday. Yes, they had the turnovers which made them lose the game but they made the majority of those mistakes after driving straight down on USF. The defense played GREAT as well.

Now, you are right that if ND keeps turning it over and loses mores games then yes, I would be worried. but looking at the whole of the game, ND played well just have to work on those fundamentals (fumbles/good decisions throwing the ball) and mental (penalties).

If the player [like Darby] knows football, why wouldn't he think: "hey, our defense looked great, and the guys who'll play with me are going to do nothing but get more and more impenetrable. They're going to need a replacement for Gary, and I'M IT!!"

If we win, he will stay true.

Alot of people don't really understand the feeling of being recruited, so if the kid wants to do his visits, I say, have fun, keep focused, and stay true to your heart.

“@rivalsmike: #NotreDame commitment Ronald Darby says he is 98% committed to #Irish and will take officials to make sure. #Florida only one for sure now.”

“@rivalsmike: #Maryland, #Florida, #Tennessee, #SouthernCal, #Cal others mentioned by Darby as teams he's interested in possibly visiting.”

“@rivalsmike: Said visit to #Maryland Monday was great and he will be back for another game if break in schedule. #NotreDame official is next week.”

Maryland scares me bc they are the hometown team.

98% is a good number, a little odd to come out and say, but a good number nonetheless.

It's still so early in the process..

Win, win, win..

Winning is key here for not only Darby, but all recruits. ND will definitely need to beat Maryland. All kids take visits, I am not worried about that, Coach Kelly and his staff need to maintain a good relationship with all of the recruits.

at this point imo...all recruits are less than 100% committed until they sign the dotted line, just the world we live in nowadays.

not sure if this has been posted. the second race is the most telling. thats the kind of speed we need on this team.

It was, and it was I who posted it. You certainly are right though, we do need that speed.
