I think most people here want to wait on the big names too, but we may or may not actually land any of those guys. If we don't, Dieter is definitely a kid to keep an eye out for. Kelly will fill all of the wr slots and I wouldn't be shocked if Dieter got a late offer before NSD. Our coach offered Heggie for christ sakes, why would it be bizarre if he gave a late offer to a local star?

Btw, the chatter about Dieter isn't happening because of his highlight tapes. They have been happening because over the last two weeks he has been setting the world on fire in his games. He has been the best player on the field, even with one of our own recruits (Perkins) on the same team. Boom has been ballin' too, but Dieter has been dominating.

We're sitting in good position with Ian Thomas, Amara Darboh, Chris Brown, Nelson Agholor (surprising), Cyrus Jones, and Bryce Treggs. Kelly is going to get production out of his quarterback and receivers. The appeal will be there.

I would put Dieter in the same group as James Brooks (WR, Florida). If we have room by the end of the cycle, which I doubt after the USC game, they may get an offer. Fair or not, that's how the game is played.

There are a lot of numbers out there, but the bottomline one is 27 total 5th years and seniors. I believe that this is the actual number but I do not know if these "counters" have accommodated Chris Badger in their calculations. We will surely "keep" Cave, KLM, Cwynar, Slaughter, and Crist. That sounds like 22 max to me. We have 13. Add some array like Stanley and Peat or Garnett, Darboh or someone similar, Mahone and BMarshall, Spence or Odenigbo, Jarron Jones, the desired [by others than me] 6th DB. That gets us to 21. Where are all these "the staff will make room" ideas coming from?? And there are at least a handful of other guys {DGB, KMarshall, Russell, Agholor, etc} that people on this board are calling for, and saying that we will wait for. I really don't get the "logic". We are going to have to let some "opportunities" go, and Gehrig is probably one of them.

27 isn't counting Badger, so bring that down to 26 - 5 = 21.

Not meant to be between ND and Dieter which is too bad. Our loss. Hope that drives him his entire career and makes him great.

He is having another just stupid night.

Approaching 400yd receiving. TDs of 90,70, and 66 yds. And an INT for a TD. All With Alford in the house. Think he gets his offer?

EDIT: Never mind as it appears they were already blowing the other team out and still throwing deep.

Add another TD, this one a 45 yarder.

WHY IS HE STILL IN THE GAME?

I don't know if Antwon Jones has a personal vendetta against the other team or if this is some "never lay off the gas" mentally he has installed or if he is just being plan classless.

I know I wouldn't shake his hand after the game.

“@NDatRivals: Impressive show of skill. No show of sportsmanship by Washington coach Antwon Jones.”

I really do not know what they are trying to prove. College coaches do not look at stats as a main factor in recruiting. I hope they were not trying to showcase Deiter just because some ND coaches were there.

I agree that college coaches don't just look at stats but if they had removed him early on when they were blowing the other team out than Alford wouldn't get to see him play as much. While I agree it is probably classless to do it, I also understand why the coach wants to get Dieter as many looks as possible with Alford there (well and maybe there was other recruiters there as well).

Well I sure as hell hope Antwan wasn't auditioning for a spot on the ND staff because he definitely isn't getting one after that.

Yeah, that's pretty much horse dung. Showcasing a kid is one thing... To demoralize the other team is quite another.

Yeah, yeah.... I hear the argument, "Then stop us"....but it just shows a "HUGE" lack of class on Antwan's part. The funny part is, It'll eventually come back to bite him in the arse and he'll be the first one to whine.

Show some class, Coach.

Agree with that but from experience. When I was in highschool we blewout some teams in the first half. Like 42-0 at halftime. We would put in the JV and you could visibly see the other team had already game up. They weren't even trying. The JV would score, sometimes. So although Deiter may get more looks and touches keeping him in the game. It is as if he is playing against air becuase the other team has already given up.

I see what you are saying and it makes sense, just don't think it shows his talents as much as the coaches may want. I would think they would rather see a real tight game and see how the players adapt to adversity rather than just playing pitch and catch.

I completely agree with you on that coaches would rather see how he performs against top notch competition and in close games.

I also wondered if they were trying to pad stats for offers and put on a show for the ND coaches attending. Either way, its pretty amazing to have set the national receiving yardage record twice in 3 games. The kid really wants to go to ND, and I'd take him. Running up the score like that is kinda lame, but as long as we have room, I would like to see him get an offer. Competition is weak on a national scale, but its hard to fault GD for that.

I just broke the national record for yards in a game. DOUBLE AND TRIPLED TEAMED the entire game. 447 yards and 4 TDs #humbled

Not sure if he understands what it means to be humbled.
