Watching the 9min video, i dont see 4.3. Lot of guys staying same distance and even catching ground a lil on long runs. I also c really bad conditioning, he looked like he was gonna die after every run. Ive neva really seen anything like that so consistently in highlight reels.
That will obviously be addressed in any big time program he goes to, so its not a big deal just something i noticed. I c more str8 line speed then shifty quickness. CB seems like an ideal spot and KR/PR is perfect for this kid.
Once he gets into a real strength and conditioning program, could be something special playing DB behind the D prospects of this year.

Lets not kid ourselves, Darby has pure speed. He is not the fastest out there, but he is fast enough and I do believe that his speed translates very well to the CB position. He has speed, fluid hips, and ball skills which makes him so attractive to the coaching staff.
Kimbrow is definitely faster than Darby and Marshall.

I believe that speed is overrated at certain positions, but not in the CB. It is essential along with ball skills, fluid hips, awareness which I believe Darby has that makes him so highly touted. If it were just about straight line speed, Usain Bolt would be the highest paid CB player in the NFL.
All I was getting at is that his other skills are not to be overlooked. He is a great cornerback prospect with outstanding speed. Not a track guy that just so happens to play CB. Farmer over at USC has great speed and yet his teammate from Serra is probably the better receiver of the two.

Some really whacky comments here about Darby's speed. Of all the things to try to be negative about, his track-champion speed is about the least defensible. How many times would a guy have to prove it to reach some people??
Of course it could easily be true that there are people out there who post ridiculous comments just to get a rise. If Darby's in any sense "ordinary" I'll take several helpings of ordinary every recruiting season.
I'm going to curbstomp the next person that questions his speed.
Those of you responding to my post seem to have In Shape and Conditioning confused.
2 completly diff things. Im just going by 1 video of 9 mins, it is also on a crappy field. Obviously a guy is gonna be tired after a 70 yard run, ive just never seen any look as close to death as him in any video EVER.
Hes playing football in a park basically, im gonna assume they dont have proper training equip or advisers at his school. So as i said its really a non issue after he gets into a real program.
ND has lacked anyone with any kind of speed since......... so have his momma cut off his phone, internet keep him on lockdown till signing day.
