Bob Diaco said exactly what he meant and always means exactly what he says... Flemming is currently in the process of changing his name to Slaughter.

If he were to slap you in the face, you'd have the urge to thank him.

Someone please put Bob Diaco's face on that. lol

Am I the only person who wants to see this beast at TE? That would be beast mode!

Yes, I think you might be. We have an embarrassment of riches at the position already; it's the absolute last place I would stick a talented utility guy like Niklas.

Ragone is gone after this year...Eifert will be gone after next year. Leaves Welch and Koyack...shrug I like offense what can I say.

Eifert is gone afte 2012, Golic in 2013, Welch in 2014, and Koyack in 2015 (assuming he red shirts this season).

Moving Niklas to a position with so much talent and eligibility could easily result in someone transferring. Better to use him at a position of real need.

I Understand Sherm. But Welch AND Koyack are both looked upon as potential NFLers with their early measureables and comparative [to players at their levels] accomplishments. It would be asking a lot to toss a great defensive talent like Niklas in there with them. And we'll recruit a TE next group anyway.

A better way of seeing Niklas would be to say that next year FLEMING is gone, and that Niklas and Williams can eat up the Lion's share at Cat. [although I think that Perkins or Okwara are going to want some of that too.]

I'm not saying play the kid at that position (TE). I'm just saying I want to see him play there, because it would be beast mode....jeeeeeeeez.

Plus Golic is gone after 2012 no way the give him a 5th year.

Oh my everyone was is taking my statement to literally. I just want to see what his game would be like as a TE, I think it would be cool. I honestly don't care where he ends up playing during his career.

Not trying to be a d1ck, Sherm! Just having a friendly conversation.

You're probably right, but the eligibility is there if Kelly decides he needs it. Very few of us saw Ragone getting a 5Y either.

I was actually one that said Ragone would be back...Ragone is to good of a blocker, best blocking TE on the team.

Wow, Sherm, I think they ought to move him to wide receiver. How's that? They jump my bones the minute I make a mistake about anything. Even if I try to be facetious. I mean you are going to get it if you step just this far out of line on Irish Envy. So forget about it . . .

Do you guys really think Koyack has any potential?

Welch has more potential that Rudy. People say that from St. X forward. Plus, Alex got the year Rudy needed.

Ben has likely higher measurables that Alex.

It could be these two and Rudy as the top tight ends in the NFL before long.

What do you mean? That took me 11 seconds to do in Paint!!!

:)

We aren't knockin' your work brother...it certainly is...ummm...Masterful...?

I'd love a legit photoshopped Diaco head on the most interesting man's body though!
Bob should wear that on the sideline!

"I don't always blitz the middle linebacker...but when I do...I blitz Manti Teo"

Anywho...way off topic haha

Any word on how Troy did at OLB today?

Niklas is probably one of the most unheralded recruits we have gotten. Completely overshadowed becasue of the drama of Lynch, Tuitt, and Ishaq. He is now proving why it was such a dogfight between ND, SC, and Stanford. As well as why all 3 schools wanted him at different positions. He may overshadow Ishaq and Councell when all is said and done

IMO he needs to redshirt this year (yes, I know he can help us win now on special teams) so that he has a chance to be a 2 year starter at DOG.

I tried even with the Diaco pic.

But besides that, I think Niklas will be better than expected. It has been awhile since ND has had so much talent on the DL.
