I am so angry. Just doesn't make sense. There are transfer possibilities. We have 3 scholarship kickers. We have guys (that I will not name) that are either career underperformers or 2* recruits or what have you.

Turning away an elite NG/NT/DT prospect is ridiculous. And why (along with no JUCOs) why will always be at a competitive disadvantage to the Alabamas of the world.

I agree, I am confused. Just dumb.

Day and Schutt's offer lists were pretty much the same except Schutt had a OSU offer. just watched both highlight tapes and Day seems to have a much quicker burst off the line than Schutt plus Day has already proven himself at the opening. I can see why they like Day better but you don't turn away 4:s: lineman.

PS when was the last time we had this problem?

Around the time that Day and Schutt were born.

Back in the last millenium when Holtz threw headlocks on referees.

I will feel a million times better if Schutt doesn't go to Michigan, or another team we have to play every damn year.

Pass him up cause we're full? Uhhhh...okay doesn't make much sense but I'm happy with what we've got and who we can get.

But saying that and having Schutt walk to Ann Arbor with a chip on his shoulder?? He's not Justice Effing Hayes.

KAAAAAHHHHHNNN!!!

This thread is becoming fraught with irony;

The same guys who bi#ched the most about how Weiss only looked at the star rating system when he selected the players, are having the biggest problem when BK selects the ones he likes best.

And that all on top of the fact that guys he picks, (Spond, Springman, Shembo, Perkins, Hardy, Golson, etc.,) turn out to be either phenomenally under rated, or get mysteriously over developed when they commit to BK!

"... along with no JUCOs ..." "... Alabama ..."

As a fairly recent graduate of Notre Dame please explain how a Terrence Cody, a Cam Newton, or a O.J. Simpson could survive the academic rigors of Notre Dame. With the exception of Larry Moriarity and Dan Reuttiger, I can't think of a JUCO that passed ND Admissions AND played football.

The vast majority of JUCO athletes went that route because they couldn't get into Alabama the first time!

Something odd is going on with Schutt. It would be irresponsible to speculate, but it would not surprise me to find out that Notre Dame and Michigan backed away from him for a specific reason.

I'm thinking the same. This is just too strange.

Between Day, Jones and
Schutt threads this is the most fun I've had on here since the Lynch saga.

Finally, the truth! Everybody wants and loves drama. Drama, the effin-beech!

Misunderstanding. I'm not saying we should admit JUCOs... I'm saying that it is a serious competitive disadvantage. As is the fact that we don't cut underperformers and don't overrecruit.

Just the facts of the matter... but not the end of the world.

Some of the many disadvantages, like not paying players, that ND's culture creates.

I think that Hafis Williams will b denied a 5th year or someone will transfer leaving an open spot for Tommy if he still wants it right b4 signing day.
Also, I don't think this is a character problem bcuse the staff wouldn't let his recruitment carry as far as 4 days b4 his commitment. Just a feeling.......

So, I guess I did the pee-pee dance for nothing?

WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON! (yes... I am yelling) I thought we would take all three of Day, Schutt and Jones if they wanted to come? This is really disapointing for me. I really wanted to watch Schutt play for the Irish.

It's a space issue but the 5th Year's and Transfers would have to take place (be known to the coaching staff before NSD. Kelly would know who the 5th Year's are he wants back but remember, this is Notre Dame. A faculty board decides which of them are academically eligible AFTER NSD. (Another piece of the uneven playing field that an ND coach has to deal with.)
