You think we told him it's not you it's me?
I am so angry. Just doesn't make sense. There are transfer possibilities. We have 3 scholarship kickers. We have guys (that I will not name) that are either career underperformers or 2* recruits or what have you.
Turning away an elite NG/NT/DT prospect is ridiculous. And why (along with no JUCOs) why will always be at a competitive disadvantage to the Alabamas of the world.
LAX take a deep breath...Now relax bro...There is more to the story than we all know...Remember it's August 4th, there is a long way to go.I am so angry. Just doesn't make sense. Day and Schutt's offer lists were pretty much the same except Schutt had a OSU offer. just watched both highlight tapes and Day seems to have a much quicker burst off the line than Schutt plus Day has already proven himself at the opening. I can see why they like Day better but you don't turn away 4lineman.
PS when was the last time we had this problem?

My apologies, a heyday rather.
Something odd is going on with Schutt. It would be irresponsible to speculate, but it would not surprise me to find out that Notre Dame and Michigan backed away from him for a specific reason.
Between Day, Jones and
Schutt threads this is the most fun I've had on here since the Lynch saga.
"... along with no JUCOs ..." "... Alabama ..."
As a fairly recent graduate of Notre Dame please explain how a Terrence Cody, a Cam Newton, or a O.J. Simpson could survive the academic rigors of Notre Dame. With the exception of Larry Moriarity and Dan Reuttiger, I can't think of a JUCO that passed ND Admissions AND played football.
The vast majority of JUCO athletes went that route because they couldn't get into Alabama the first time!
WTF is right. Do all of the recruiting services have Schutt overrated?
Misunderstanding. I'm not saying we should admit JUCOs... I'm saying that it is a serious competitive disadvantage. As is the fact that we don't cut underperformers and don't overrecruit.
Just the facts of the matter... but not the end of the world.
Some of the many disadvantages, like not playing players, that ND's culture creates.
^THIS
Unfortunately a Freudian slip. Res Life does make "not playing players" appropos. T'was supposed to be "not paying players".
I think that Hafis Williams will b denied a 5th year or someone will transfer leaving an open spot for Tommy if he still wants it right b4 signing day.
Also, I don't think this is a character problem bcuse the staff wouldn't let his recruitment carry as far as 4 days b4 his commitment. Just a feeling.......
