Ha. Too bad he didn't register here. I remember Emeka Nwankwo was on here back in the day during his recruitment. Kid has some balls to bring it up though, good for him.
can't measure heart, this kid is showing me some.
I don't know if any fan base on his offer list would do this, or heck any fanbase that despises the ND fanbase would. But I would not put it past another fan base sending him a message on facebook, or some other means, and telling him to look at this site to see what fans have said.
Nope too far fetched![]()
I'm a fan now....
Have you guys checked out the 40 speeds from OREGON. Lots & Lots of top rated skill players were running 4.6's and higher.--The true 4.5s were hard to find even among the elite.
Mr Turner can not really be called some kind of long shot or highly speculative judgement call by the staff.---When you come to camp--to ND camp , not with a 4.45 on your resume but with a TRUE 4.5 timed by our coaches , along with a 4.12 shuttle---BINGO!
By in large the element that seperates the top talent from the lessor player is SPEED. You really can't coach that, its either a raw skill or you have to develop skills somewhere else.
Turner not only brings very good size but very very good speed. The kid has the natural talent to be a player , and appears to have alot of determination as well. This is no charity case of that we can all be sure.
Too funny funny to hear someone called out that directly. And a constant reminder that basically all recruits read message boards more than people think.

And people wonder why I delete so many gd posts on recruits' threads. And then I get yelled at LOL.
And the funny thing is, I almost deleted Title2012's post but thought better of it since he had seen him play. And now we get publicity for it. Should we take it like Hollywood does - any publicity is good publicity? Yeah, didn't think so.
Oh well...use it as fuel Mr. Turner!
Just playing a little devil's advocate, but you can coach straight line forty speed. Technique can be a difference from a 4.6 and a 4.45.
My view on the general issue of crapping on recruits is extreme: don't do it. America is the Home of Free Speech and all that, but at IE I hope that we are a small part of a big team called Notre Dame football. That means not only supporting our players, but supporting our staff when they are recruiting. There is no way that the staff believe that slamming players during their recruitment is good policy.
When I hear that the staff has offered a player, I say: great; that means he is a very good player [ and a good prospect for the entirety of Notre Dame family membership] or they would never have offered him. It's not about me nor my opinions, it's about Kelly and his abilities and his job. I'll have plenty of opportunity to carp about the athlete later once he puts on the jersey, if I'm the kind of person who just has to do so.
My opinion about weaknesses in a players game at the high school level is probably relevant to recruitment in two ways: 1). it's amateurish compared to Kelly's assessment; and 2). it's not going to influence Kelly, so all I might do is influence a recruit --- which is absolutely NOT my job.
I am a big fan of Notre Dame football. I am a big fan of Staff Kelly. And I am a big fan of NDinLA when he blots out "unhelpful" posts [including this one if he assesses it that way; he is a good mod].
And, I am a big fan of John Turner. Thank you, young man, for being the sort of athlete and person that you are, that our great coaching staff can see you as a Notre Dame student and player. Give 'em h@ll your senior year!
There is no question that one can improve there athleticism and speed by training and technique but it 40 times like any other stat only tell half the story.Just playing a little devil's advocate, but you can coach straight line forty speed. Technique can be a difference from a 4.6 and a 4.45.

I don't like when people apply exceptions when convenient (i.e., being bias and assuming that all ND recruits are 'flying under the radar' or all the 'RKG's')... That's like saying all the 4.4's could run 4.2's with proper technique, and the 4.6's could run 4.4's. If this is the case, is a 4.6 down to a 4.4 really good? No. He's not the fastest, not everyone is. Let's not bank on him getting much faster, but that's ok. 4.6 will do if he has all of the other intangibles.

IMO 40 times are extremely overrated especially when talking about football. 40 times are great at gauging raw athleticism but that's about it and there's much more to football and sports in general than just athleticism.
There is way to much stock put into 40 times because well first of all these guys are in shorts rather than pads and helmets on and anybody can tell you it's much different running, throwing and catching when your all geared up and when your in shorts and a T.
That is one hellacious schedule.
He is playing Odenigbo at OSU, that will be pretty sweet.
No Carmel?
