Yes Geno Smith is annoying but he is a kid. Im guessing he thinks it's annoying when thousands of people that he doesn't know bother him on fb or twitter.

Much ado about nothing. For all we know he could be right, but it's still ridiculous to hang on the words of Geno Smith or anyone but Darby/his coach. I never count out an SEC school when it comes to recruiting because we all know they will do everything and anything to land someone. There was an article not too long ago about Auburn Tigerettes who are basically glorified whores paid by the school to keep the players happy. And then there is the admitted pay-for-play captured on HBO on top of the Cam Newton thing.... it's a whole different game than battling a Stanford or a Michigan.

Suggestion to everybody. Take Geno off your twitter feed.
I'm really starting to think he just reads everyone's crap on here and then posts stuff just to mess with you guys. It's become apparent that recruits do read our threads. Look at the John Turner thing. Honestly if you type "irish" and any recruit of ours name on Google we are usually at the top of the page. We clearly aren't hard to find.
Note: I don't use my twitter to follow recruits so I don't have this problem. These are just high school students and athletes (some really just athletes). They really don't need our glorification. I like to watch recruiting, but it's getting out of hand with how high above everyone some of these guys are being put.

I don't have Geno on my twitter but after reading this stuff I decided to look him up. After he wrote that he thought Darby would decommit and commit to Auburn. Someone wrote "so you think Darby can be bought huh?"
Then Geno responded by saying Auburn does NOT buy players. That just started a whole thing on his page, pretty funny to me anyways.
I don't look too much into tweets especially by highschool kids. I just got a kick out of all the things being said to him and what he says back.

I'm not sure but when I hear that he says this it sounds as if he still has ND on the brain. It is just that he might not want to face the competition if Darby is here and wants him (Darby) to go elsewhere so that he may come in, and get on the field faster.

Believe he is visiting Bama on Thursday, however I dont really care about this kid and where he ends up at this point. I would love that he would help us with football games here at ND, however it would be kind of hard to root for him.
He's not coming here anyhow, and never was truly considering it. I will be more than happy to have one or more of Yuri Wright, TJ Davis, or Armani Reeves, in that order to fill our last CB spot(s) for this year.

True, however we were recruiting GAIII as a running back. If we fill our needs at slot with Ian Thomas and/or some other guys still on the board and do not land another CB, IMHO he would end up on the defensive side of the ball.
Under Coach Kelly, its almost a moot point what position we are recruiting guys at until they get on campus. Farley was recruited as a DB, Massa moved from WR to QB. Who saw Bennett Jackson ending up at CB? Collinsworth was recruited to play offense. I'm sure you get where I'm going...
Right now were recruiting a lot of of guys with position flexibility, and who we do or dont end up with is going to depend on who plays where. Example, say we get commitments from Mahone and Byron Marshall, then K. Russell if he decided to commit could end up in the slot. If we only get one of mahone and marshall, or neither, Russell would definitely end up at RB.
Its all very fluid at this point , but regardless none of those decisions by the coaching staff are going to include Geno Smith, who is not coming to ND.

Amen on the fluid remark. Until the class is locked up,,,, really until the class gets through summer practice.... we only have a blue print. The beauty of it all, we finally have a coach who understands this, embraces it, recruits to it, and coaches to it. No more finnese... The proof is in the pudding, but BKs actions and words thus far have impressed. All things the same, I've got a better feeling about BK after his first year (feeling of well-roundedness if that's a word) than I did with everyone post Holtz. I liked Weis coming out of his first year, but knew he was O first, finesse, and full of ego which closed the door early on a lot of elite recruits. Especially on the D side of things. Davie and TW were throwing darts at board, and in my opinion, weren't ready for all things ND. BradyQ and JeffS were lucky mistakes if you know the history of their recruiting cycle. All in all, BK has a plan, talks the talks, and has prepared for the walk. Let's just hope that they execute this fall. If they can, recruiting will be obscene next year.

I followed him for a bit and it was the biggest waste of time reading his stupid comments. He has a comment every 2 secs. ND has some top notch recruits already on board and some SERIOUSLY considering them. I don't care to read anymore on Geno.
