Tiger Woods set to make an announcement on Monday morning - Devil Ball Golf - Golf Blog - Yahoo! Sports
My guess..new career, Porn Star.
My guess..new career, Porn Star.
He is not really a tiger, he is actually part of the lemur family.
I have inside info, he is not a tiger, but a liger. My guess is that he out for the year, which is no big deal, since he made more in the time I made this drunken post than I will make this year.
I really love the idea in the article about retirement....the game is ready for him to be gone.He did a lot to bring the game to the forefront at the beginning of his career....but the last several years he has been an embarrassment.
Lets bring on the new generation of the Rorys and Dustin Johnsons and the like....
F*ck and no!
The game is most definitely, without a doubt, not ready for him to retire...that is absurd.
The guy wasn't faithful to his wife, I'm over it.
Until he's 50 years old or we see other players winning a quarter of the tournaments they enter, or some guy winning the US Open on one leg.....the PGA is not ready.
is he gonna take his talents to South Beach?

What is with all the Tiger hate? So the guy likes chicks...that is a good reason for everyone to take shots at him? The guy is one of the top handful of athletes ever. He has apparently never fully recovered from the injury he sustained winning the U.S. Open in 2008. Personally, I think it is kind of sad and it has been a loss for sports fans. Whatever his announcement today, I hope it works out well for him and he gets back soon and he makes a run at Jack's record.
And the poster who says that it is time for him to retire(!), that might be the most absurd thing I've ever heard. If he did retire, that is his right. But we're talking about golf. There is no reason he can't compete for another decade or more. And as for the idea that golf would be better off without him, I bet Tim Finchem would disagree with you. I'm as excited as anybody about the next generation of players coming into the game, but it will obviously be better if there is an old guard for them to compete with. The old guard IS Tiger. The other best players in his generation combined haven't won to the level that he has.
First of all, I don't categorize golfers as athletes; they are simply really good at a non-athletic game. Don't get me wrong, it's incredible what they do, and especially Tiger, but I'm not going to call it athletic. That's just my take on it and my own personal opinion.
People like to bash celebrities when they fall, because they view the celebs as having so much, it's nice to see them have to deal with normal problems.
I don't think he should retire, he's way to young, this is golf; but he may never return to form again after the injury, and we'll see a shadow of the former player. So, in that regard, I think maybe he could retire. It would be fantastic to see him have a run at the record, but I don't want to see anything less than a healthy, dominant Tiger. It's kind of like superstars in other sports. When they get too old or their bodies won't perform at that astronomical level, they just retire, because you can't go from superstar to average joe, team player.
That was funny!is he gonna take his talents to South Beach?
First off I want to say I'm a 59 year old white guy. Laugh- but you will see why I said that as I say my peace. This guy when he is right is the greatest golfer of all time. I am old enough to have see Jack Nicklaus play-in my opinion Tiger is better. I actually hope if he feels he can't play to the level he expects that he just rides off into the sunset. But if he feels he can come back then I say go for it. Watching golf now is boring because I know in my heart if he's right these guys are playing for 2nd place. Will he ever be right again-maybe not-doesnt look good, but to say the tour is OK without him is just biased and silly. I do not like what he did to his wife-who would- but the guy has paid his pound of flesh-I say move on. As a golfer I miss the excellance and the way he pounded those guys into submission. Greatest closer I have ever seen. These young guys are not Tiger Woods. The media is trying its best to promote these young guys but the void is there. As far as I'm concerned he owes nobody one darn thing. Maybe my 85 year old church going mother said it best-"I miss watching him play golf-and to qoute her if I may "he's not the first guy who couldnt keep it in his pants".agreed. the game still needs tiger. to say he needs to be gone, ridiculous.
i'm thinking like others, he's taking the remainder of the year off.
Also, even tho I already wrote something in the thread below. I'm guessing this was going to be the announcement. I thought I heard PTI say Steve asked him to wait til after the British. They didn't mention the announcement, Im just putting two and two together.
Also, Tiger's group apparently asked Steve Williams not to caddie for Tiger at the ATT National during the 4th of July weekend (even though Tiger/they said he could). Steve went ahead and caddied anyway. I guess his termination may be the result of that decision.
