Says its Pac 12 or ND. Shutting down recruiting visits for summer. Ducks, Bruins, Cardinal, Notre Dame, Cal will all be getting officials.

Its a Cal/ND battle and it always has been. Oregon might offer and that can change things up though

It's hard to hate on Stanford: great academics (in the ND sense for athletes), great location, and a relatively clean program. Sure, it sucks that they can probably beat us out on some recruiting battles, but I'd rather lose players to Stanford than UM, USC, UNC, etc.

Sure Stanford is a great institution....but I would rather a kid ND really wants go to a school they don't have to face every year...if they decide not to go to ND of course.

He's taking a look at Stanford. I don't think it was suggested he was a Stanford lean or anything. He wants to play for a good football team that has good academics AND he lives in California. Wouldn't it just be stupid of him to over look Stanford?

Should be ranked as the #19 WR on Rivals... but for some reason they left him off the positional list lol. Currently slotted at #133 nationally which is one spot ahead of the current #19 guy.

Either him or Brooks would be very good pickups. We sure as heck better get one or the other.

He is the #18 WR on rivals

Eh. These sort of things help build rivalries.

Top talent who are legit about wanting academics and football mention ND and Stanford.....ND consistently whoops on Stanford - prospects will only mention ND (hypothetically speaking).

ND has tons of rivalries. USC-Michigan-Navy-Army-Purdue-Boston College-Miami-Mich St.
I can go without Stanford (being stressed for 3 months straight isn't good on the body...I need some "break games")

Zac Brooks, come on down!

Was hoping for a sweep of the Nor Cal kids but Treggs was always a slight stretch and Shaq a very long shot.

Woah...slow down big lax! Cal has always been the favorite, but he just claimed them as 'a' leader, not THE leader. And the mods at ISD still think ND has a great shot to land him, with the probability being that they actually have guys ranked a little bit higher than him right now (Brooks being one of them). But this one is far from over.

Haha ok I guess I'll pump the breaks a little.

Speaking of ISD.... I just created a free account over there to check things out. Looks like a treasure trove of information... but sadly I need to pay like $100 for access. Would those of you who are loyal subscribers consider it worth it to shell out a little coin?

Has last year taught us nothing? Don't count out a recruit until they've signed their LOI elsewhere.

My take on ISD is that Mike Frank is a really good guy that tries hard to do things the right way.

ISD is a great mix of actual football analysis (Coach D), good recruiting info. which is almost always accurate because it generally comes straight from the kid or his coach (ISD staff stay in good touch with the current recruits and seem to benefit from the fact that they are good guys), and good debate- the posters remind me of this site a lot in that people are generally civil and mild-mannered.

The site doesn't seem quite as profit driven as the other two, either.

As far as the podcasts go, I would rather listen to Frank and Driskell talk then Prister and Sampson any day of the week. Prister seems like giant contrarian that reverts to conventional wisdom 100% ("Well, I don't know about that... I like some of the 5 stars their looking at better.") It seems like they go out of their way to disagree with (PA announcer) Mike Collins as much as possible, almost to the point of absurdity.

The disadvantage ISD has is that even though it is technically an ESPN affiliate, you don't really have access to the ESPN database or other ESPN sites. So you don't get the breadth of information that you get on Rivals or Scout (or maybe even 247). So if you want to read about every rumor, substantiated or not, about every prospect, or what other schools are saying about kids, it is probably not as good as Rivals.

I don't know much about Scout or 247, but both seem to have stepped up their game since last season.

II saying the exact same thing. Zac Brooks is seen as a must get by the staff apparently

I'm a paying member. I have been a paying member on ISD, Irish Illustrated and Scout. IMO, ISD is the best. I will say the pay side of ISD, blows away the free stuff.

Yeah Lax, if you need further info on ISD vs. the other sites, let me know and we'll make it its own thread out of respect for Bryce's thread. But I will say that ISD, in my opinion is the best, for many reasons which I won't get into here. But all have their merits...
