It's not that we're not recruiting NT's right now. The staff just feels like it isn't a necessity this class. However, if Schutt wants to come to ND, everyone would be happy.

Yeah, I don't know who started and ended the 'playing with leverage debate' over the correct height and weight for a true NT, but this guy has a good frame to be a true NT.

Not sure if I started it, but I was part certainly a party to that discussion. And I agree, Schutt is the right 'shape' for a NT.

I don't get how Penn State appeals to anyone not from Pennsylvania. There is literally nothing special about that school... it's just a big generic party school in the middle of nowhere with bad weather. Why not got to an SEC school if you're looking to party and play good football? Or Arizona State? Much better weather, girls, etc.

And I'm (hand on the Bible) not trying to be a hater here. My brother attends PSU and I just get to see how blase he is about everything. Yeah, he has a lot of fun because it's a great school for parties and drinking. But the academics are average, the tradition is average, the team is average... it's just so "generic big state school" and hard to get excited about. There is nothing you get at Penn State that you couldn't get equal or better at another school.

If anyone wants to revisit the board's comments on NT size/shape most of it, I believe, occurs in Jarron Jones' thread relatively early on. My memory of that is that it was a team effort educating ourselves. Schutt is, however, without debate, a right-on NT body build, and we sure as heck would welcome him with open arms --- and THAT's true whether we get big Jarron or not.

this exactly what I try to tell the my friends who are PSU "fans" and I always get the same dumb response. "Well we're better than ND" It literally smells like **** up there in state college from the farms that surround the campus. Try telling them that Paterno doesn't do anything anymore and is just a figurehead for recruiting. God I hate Penn State

I promise, that if he becomes Irish, I am starting a petition for him to play with a cutoff jersey like Zorich. This kid plays like a crazed animal... a crazed animal with a belly that should hang out of his jersey.

That's a fairly ignorant statement.

I'm not saying saying Penn State's academics are on par with Notre Dame's, but they are certainly above average. Being in the Big Ten--errr, CIC and being one of those huge research schools means they are certainly an above average school at the very least. Bowling Green is average. Penn State is not average.

As a football player, Penn State is one of the elite programs. On the lower end of being elite, but there are still one of the 10-15 perennial national powers. In the midwest, there undoubtedly one of the top schools. Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Notre Dame tend to run the show. Plus playing for JOE PATERNO probably does have some pull too. I don't care if he doesn't coach very much these days. A legend is a legend.

I also highly doubt, not that you said it, that the place smells like crap year-round.
