Notre Dame is number 1, apparently its not even close at this point. Still a long way to go and he plans on waiting til after his OV's.

Sick. Based on inside info, premium recruiting sites or what? Give me Treggs, Greenberry and DGB... I'll be happy as a clam.

Just give me DGB and I'm happy as a clam. Treggs and Greenberry would just make things a lot better.

Bryce Treggs had Notre Dame as one of his favorites before visiting South Bend last weekend. After the trip, the Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco wide receiver said the Irish have moved up even higher.

“The Notre Dame trip was great,” Treggs said. “I really enjoyed myself. I really got a sense for the tradition and met some great people. I met coach Brian Kelly and we got to speak a little bit before the spring game. It was good to get out there and experience the tradition.

“What really stuck out to me is how many people love football there and how serious football is there. The fans were out there hours before the game. I like playing in front of a big crowd so that was big.”

Cal and Notre Dame are considered two of the favorites for Treggs, who finished with 56 receptions for 1,010 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. The Irish will definitely remain in the hunt and Treggs said he plans to take an official visit to Notre Dame for the USC game.

“It definitely moves up after the visit,” Treggs said.

During his trip to the Midwest, Treggs also took an unofficial visit to Northwestern and picked up another offer. While the Wildcats are not currently among his top schools, Treggs said he wants to do more research and will never eliminate them.

“Because of the academics I’m going to take a hard look and evaluate them a little bit,” Treggs said. “I’ll never rule them out because they have great academics. It would be stupid to rule them out.”

So far, Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Cal, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Oregon State, San Jose State, Stanford, UCLA, Utah and Washington have offered Treggs, who has visits to Cal and Washington remaining this spring.

He’s been to both Pac-10 schools multiple times but wants to see the Golden Bears and Huskies one more time this off-season.

“I’ve been (to Cal) plenty of times, like six or seven times, but going up there again would be good so I can talk to the coaches again,” Treggs said.

“I want to see how they’re going to be this year and see how the team is looking. I’ve been to Washington twice. I’m just going up to talk with the coaches and to get an even better feel for that school.”

I get the feeling wins mean a lot to Treggs. That, or team chemistry relevant success.

That's good. It's understandable too. The more I read about Treggs, the more I get the feeling he'll be a late commit rather than an early one...

If the right four want to come, I think Kelly takes 'em; and no, one doesn't have to be DGB.

For instance, if Greenberry and Darboh pop within the next couple months, I'm sure Kelly would hold a spot open for an elite slot guy like Treggs. If it goes the other way, and we get, say, Greenberry and Treggs next, I'm not sure if Kelly would take another tall boundary receiver unless it's DGB.

DGB has a scholly waiting for him regardless of how many commits we have...if the best player in the nation wants to play for you, you hook em up with a scholly.

I didn't imply otherwise. I was addressing an idea frequently posted here that we'll only take 3 WRs this year, unless DBG wants to come after we're full; in that case, and only that case, we'll take four.

To reiterate, if our first three WR verbals are tall boundary guys, I think Kelly would take a 4th as long as it's an elite slot guy like Treggs. If we get an elite slot guy within our first 3 verbals, I'm not sure Kelly takes a tall boundary receiver as a 4th WR unless it's someone like DGB.

They're looking for a slot guy and a RB/Slot dual threat guy if possible

Kimbrow's recruitment is just getting started, and it will be a prolonged one regardless of whether or not he verbals.

He's also an all-purpose running back, not really a slot guy.

aren't all purpose backs all purpose because of their ability to catch the football? i thought the same about theo riddick, if they can turn him into a slot they surely could with kimbrow as well imo
