Charlie Weis went 3-9 in 2007 and nabbed the #2 class in the nation.

Even if Goatboy Kiffin went 0-12 next year, recruits would flock to USC for the tradition, the weather, the girls, etc.

Yeah Kiffen can recruit, and Weis got great classes after losing seasons. Its a whole different animal to be recruiting when your limited in scholarships, wont play in bowl games, and have zero shot at a championship.

i think the longer this process with davis goes on the more necessary it becomes for us to get off to a good start and crush USC under the lights...that might be enough to finish our recruiting that night.

I agree with you. The game against USC should be a huge game for us and for our recruiting. We could definently pick up a few commitments that evening if we hand USC their A#%.

the big thing is we usually do land a few that weekend without even winning the game!!!

add a win to the equation and a successful start and that may be a solid clincher for several recruits.

It's supposedly down to ND and Florida. Since we haven't heard any rumblings that he's breaking our way, I'm inclined to echo the above sentiment.

I don't feel good about this one at all. I think the Gators are going to grab him although I would love to be wrong.

We don't know. This is the kid in the class that I want the most, so I hope we get good news. I am sure the staff wants him as much as we do.

I think Hinton seems like a great guy and recruiter- Alford does not have to be involved with every kid. Williams obviously responded well to Diaco; the Atkinsons loved Denbrock; Tuitt connected with Martin. Different kids respond to different personalities as well.

One of Kiffin's big draws is his boys-will-be-boys, turn-the-other-way attitude. That is pretty attractive to star athletes who are looking to maximize their enjoyment of right now. His recruiting will suffer if USC has to clamp down. There are pretty girls at lots of schools (see the SEC).
