I'd say there's a very likely chance both of those scenarios play out.. that is, of course, dependent on Cierre getting the bulk of the carries unlike last year when he and Allen were a virtual split (I know Allen was injured, but RB by committee is the way the football world is going).. would like to see a 70-30 or even 75-25 % split between Cierre and Gray/McDaniel/QB keepers/WR end arounds/wildcat etc
I don't know if it's so much the yards Cierre racks up as it is the touches he receives.. nothing against Cierre, but Marshall is elite and I'd expect him to have a better YPC than Cierre, so if the lead back in our offense can get +250 touches, that is probably more enticing to Marshall than the back eclipsing 1000 yards.. if BK reserves a good portion of the carries for one lead RB this year, that bodes well for us
