GO PACERS! Any other pacers fan on this site?

I was always a Pacers fan until Reggie retired...the NBA hasn't been the same since, so I don't watch anymore. Not much of an accomplishment of them getting in the playoffs, seeing as how they're 36-43.

Pacers fan here,

really happy they made it, even though their record is bad

Wonder who we'll match up with in the first round?

Sure its an accomplishment, they havent been to the playoffs in 5 years. You cant blame the pacers for the way the system is.

Coming from a knicks fan who has 2 superstars and are a whole 5 games better record wise than the pacers. Knicks fans are delusional

Relax there buddy. It's not "our year" for either team. No delusions here. Thanks for the heat check though.

I'd rather that we matched up with the Heat, actually...

We could knock them out of the playoffs if we ran into them.

We do match up well with the Bulls....everyone except DRose..

No one matches up with that guy, he's amazing

I have been a Pacers fan for years. I have always supported all of my Indy teams through thick and thin. I will say however that I only casually follow them these days. The worst day in Pacers history was the whole Detroit Melee fiasco several years back. I kind of knew that the Pacers were doomed back then. What started out as a VERY promosing season ended up a disaster, and it hasn't gotten anything but worse in the years since. I miss the days of Reggie Miller, Rik Smits, Mark Jackson and the Davis'. Those were the good times and a time when the whole city of Indianapolis supported and rallied around their hometown team. It was a respected franchise and they were always fun to watch. The last several years have been an embarrassment for the city with player's personal issues etc, and a horrible record to boot. I'm happy with the direction the team is headed now, as they are trying desperately to restore the winning ways with a touch of class. I think the Pacers need a superstar player to put them over the top though. They are far from anything special these days, but hopefully they will continue to grow and continue in the right direction. Getting into the playoffs, no matter how ugly it may seem; is a huge accomplishment that the Pacers should be proud of.

Correct, Larry bird has gotten players who stay out of trouble and are good basketball players at that. They're young and raw but the future looks some what bright. Honestly though ive been to 8 games this season and i figured fans would start making a comeback, its sad that hasnt happened yet

It is very sad that the fans have not made it back yet. I think people are skeptical because of all the problems that took place in recent years. I remember vividly when we played the Lakers for the NBA championship in 2000. Those were amazing times and we were all proud of our team. I think if Larry Bird can keep these kids in line and out of trouble, and they can find a way to win ball games on a more consistent basis, then the fans will come back. Alot of damage was done and the image of the Pacers were tarnished so much, that alot of people just got fed up with it all. I truly hope our Pacers can stay the course and return to glory again. People in Indianapolis love the Pacers to win games.., but they also like them to do it in the right way.
