Pitchers and Catchers start reporting this week, which means only one thing...IT'S ALMOST BASEBALL SEASON! and i'm going to be honest here, baseball is my first love so it's good to know that in a short time the cubs start playing and by the end of july they will have destroyed my faith and wanting me to dream of football season. But in the mean time I better reserve my college world series tickets.
so...is anyone else excited about baseball season? what about how your team is going to be this year? I'll start of with a prediction...cubs are going to make it to the playoffs and win the divisional round. (I might be dreaming)

the phillies scare me, that's one nasty starting rotation

Yea most people dont know that Utley had a injury bothering him the entire season. He hit
.277 last year which is .2 below his normal average near .300. Ryan Howard also focused more on contact last year in order to cut down on Strike outs. He only hit 31 HRs last year. When you hit 45 HR and pulled in 150 RBIs does anyone really care about Strike outs.

Ah, the memories!!! Wish there weren't any. Frankie Baumholtz losing the batting title to Stan Musial one year in the fourth decimal place, so the next year the Cubs traded for Ralph Kiner to give them both [tied] home run champs [with Hank Sauer].

Sauer stood three feet from the left field foul line with a fielding radius of six feet. Kiner stood three feet from the right field foul line with a fielding radius of six feet. Baumholtz was given the rest of the outfield. Never had a decent season again --- may have died out there for all I know. Ah...memories of the Cubs.

"Today's a good day to play two!!"; Ernie Banks.
"Yeh, gives us a chance to win ONE!!"; Cubs fan.

Nothing better on a Saturday afternoon in the summer than cracking open a Coke and watching a baseball game.

Bosox are loaded this year and if they stay healthy will get the job done!! Great lineup, but an inconsistent pitching staff and bullpen did them in last year. Hopefully, they get that taken care of pretty quick.

My Reds look like they're finally on their way back, much like our beloved Irish. It's tough being from cincy...our teams have been a mockery for years.

I thought it was a plague of injuries that did them in last year.

I am a braves fan and can't wait for the season. But i live in maryland and get to watch the O's a lot to they could be a scary team if they were not in the AL East. I look foward to alot of Braves -Phils match ups. they have a good staff 3 numbers ones thats crazy. But hamels you never know what you will get from him.

Yes...if they stay healthy, however, they were competitive the whole year without those guys. I personally am more worried about their pitching staff's consistency, which I think is the reason they've brought so many guys in to compete for a job in the bullpen.

Yes, the Braves can hang... I do think the Phils should be the odds on fav. to win it all... but that is not to say they are a lock anywhere... and the Braves have the potential

I am a Royals fan, and while we have a LOADED farm system right now, I don't expect too much for at least another year. So, this year I will be in the stands w/ a beer, enjoying beautiful weather and hoping/but not stressing over, a win....Hopefully a lot of times this summer.
