Picks South Carolina over Clemson and Alabama. Couldn't find a profile for him. Doesn't necessarily mean he will be playing for the Gamecocks next year though because apparently he has serious academic issues.

I'm just glad that he's not going to Alabama. They have enough studs in the stable.

Just saw him on sportscenter. Not surprised that he has academic issues due to watching him get interviewed. Obviously, he could be nervous, but he was struggling.

I'm happy he's in South Carolina. Didn't want to see him joining that great defensive Clemson class or Alabama...obviously.

No Sh*t !!

thank god he's not going to Bama .... S Carolina is the only school i truly root for in the SEC cause they are always an underdog, just cause i hate how it's always Florida, Tenn., Georgia, Bama, Auburn etc....etc....ruling the SEC. i would like to see someone else have some success and i think Clowney could really help out SC get there.

It's the SEC. "Academics" are a myth down there, right up there with Perseus and Paul Bunyan.

he is a 4-3 d end, the only way he was going to to bama was if he was ok going to outside backer. saban loves the 3-4! it was strange that the head of admissions at that prep school openly talked about his transcripts...

It's pretty sad that a kid would get this far in school and struggle so mightily. I doubt he was ever pushed to do anything academically.

What are you saying about Paul Bunyan? I've seen his statue, he must be real.

Fellas, he just needs a place with room and board paid for, a weight room with a strength coach, and early PT.

He doesn't care about winning at this level.

3 years and he's in the league. Just a parking space.

Im assuming that spurrier is putting together a crack team of tutors as we speak. Not to mention they are building him his own house =p

So now S Carolina has 33 in it's recruiting class. Did they really have 8 EE to put against last year's class? They signed 32 on signing day and still had an available schollie. Amazing.

He'll be one of the best defensive ends in SEC history. Future #1 pick. He makes Da'Quon Bowers look like John Ryan.

I heard he was seven feet tall, kills men by the hundreds, and consumes offenses with fireballs from his eyes and bolts of lightning from his arse.

oh yeah coaches will do that .....

random story, but my friend Justin, was ranked 17th (TE/DE) coming out of San Clemente high school and had a full ride to Florida St., well my friend Justin wasn't the brightest kid on the block but he sure did have size being 6'7 240 pounds. So Bobby Bowden came to my high school, and had the school principal change all of Justin's harder classes to all easy ones, so he could pass.

coaches will do anything to get a HS kid enrolled into college, so once they makes it academic wise coming in, then the coach can just give the student player as many tutors as he wants or needs.

Admiral, my friend---NEVER let reality intrude upon legend.... A little delusionality is a good thing---especially with all us knuckleheads on this site.
