We have a quote here in philly for sports...

Being a Philly sports fan is like winning the lottery and getting robbed a day later

I hate all Philly sports
so I love seeing them choke year in and year out

The Philthies were the exception there..they managed to finally take a championship home to Philadelphia

being a cleveland fan is like buying a lottery ticket every day, then one day you finally win it, but lose the ticket.
see: the drive, the shot, the fumble, etc

Found this little blurb in an old article. I think it speaks to Tuitt's character. I'm guessing most kids wouldn't have shown up at practice.

Heading into his junior season, Tuitt was determined to earn a starting role and become an impact player. So determined, in fact, the first day of summer workouts he walked 13 miles to get to practice.

"My mom was at work and I couldn't get a ride," Tuitt recalls. "Fortunately, I was able to get a ride back home."

I walked 13 miles once, took four years...... Great story, Stephon is just a quality kid, glad he's a future AA at Notre Dame.

Praise The Lord!!! The Big Piece of this monster defense that's showing up. My optimism about people who are still in High School stems not from Green Kool-Aid [I don't believe] but because Stephon and Aaron and Ishaq, working together, basically destroyed the top players of their class in the showcase game and by the time they've matured together, they'll not even be playing against all-star line units. I'd say their odds of obliterating those units in the future are pretty good.

Add in Councell and Rabasa and it's about assured.

Right... like that analyst has any idea what he is talking about. When Stephon says he's done, not his coach trying to pull a fast one and say "he won't be taking calls or allowing visits," then I believe him that he's done. He's been very straight forward and thoughtful throughout this entire process the way he has tried to evaluate his choices. I'm really not seeing a defection in the next 5 days.

Non-recruiting question.

Is there a difference/designation between the two DE positions? I know Tuitt is a powerful, disrupter and Lynch is more of a speed, pass rusher but does this make a difference as to what side of the D they line up on? For instance, since Lynch is a speed guy it may make sense to have Ishaq rushing opposite him and have Nix and Tuitt be working inside. So carrying on this logic, in the future will we be recruiting DE's to fit each of these two profiles or is this merely the characteristics of the elite DE's that we happened to land?

i hope your right...this one just scares the hell out of me...he is the kind of dlineman that ends up in the sec and i think hes our most important recruit of all (i know we have some others with more headlines)...he just takes this class to another level...and nd is a great fit for him, but i just hope he realizes this and people stay out of his ears...when i see signed loi i'll be able to sleep better at night...no wait, then i'll be too anxious to sleep wanting to see these guys in action! oh what the hell...

These easy answer is "sort of." Basically the guy in Tuitt's position has the pass rushing OLB on his side (aka Ishaq/Fleming) so he is more likely to end up on the inside in a 4 man front whereas Lynch would be less likely. It's basically the difference between Ethan Johnson's position and KLM's position this year if you pay attention to the front on any given down.

Right...tuitt isn't exactly going to put up big sack numbers, but his presence will be felt disrupting the running game and getting tfl's and getting an occasional sack here and there.
