I read the article as well and I think even more highly of him now than I did before.

His dedication and drive will be what makes him special because talent will only take you so far w/o those. I believe he will be elite, and I am predicting that he will the heisman at some point in his career. His devotion to ND should also be noted as he NEVER wavered in his commitment to CW. His crack about going to the Giants w/ CW showed that.

I finally got a chance to read the article and I was kinnda upset because I didn't want it to end. When Charlie and one of his assistants went to Jimmy's house after the loss to LSU and Jim Clausen told them to go recurite offensive linemen and linebackers I got so excited that I nearly wet myself. After a loss like that and then the response has got my mouth watering for more. I have been an ND fan since consepction and I have never been more excited this time of year that I can remember. Just hope that I'm not staring into the headlights to an on coming semi!

Saw a thing on ESPN news, they had a poll on the best teenager athlete in the world today. I think you could vote for......Kevin Durant, Sidney Crosby, Greg Oden, somebody else and Jimmy Clausen. I just thought that was funny because Jimmy hasn't even taken a snap in a college sport yet let alone pro....man is he hyped...anyway he finished last in the poll which he should lol but its still awesome.

I wonder if Kelly can tab him as a "grad assistant" so he cant participate in practices a little to help the young guys out in throwing drills.

Serious question.

Would Jimmy be able to go to the Spring Practices?

or is that against some NCAA rule?

You would have to think he'd be hankerin' for some football while he's there. I can completely see him at practice, and I don't think there should be an issue with alumni participating in a coaching capacity at their alma mater. I don't know though, guess work on my part. I'd love to see the NCAA reg.

I am new to this forum so I'm sure it has been discussed before, but who punched him? I heard it was Armando Allen.

He was out to "dinner", a very late dinner, with his family at a local drinking establishment after a loss. He was punched by an angry fan.

Most likely, he was out drinking and got punched in the face by an angry fan because of the loss. The only thing fishy about the official story is the midnight dinner.
