As I heard others say, good thing he can't bring Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, and Ed Reed.
Seems odd he would leave the NFL for the same role at Michigan. Wonder if he was on his way out anyway? Anybody have any insight?
I'm neutral on the hire.
I has wishing that you would put your Riddickulous jinx on them by saying, "They are going ot own us for the next 40 years." Can you use your powers on other teams or does it only work on our guys?
I'm 100% certain that Mattison and Michigan will dominate us for the next 20 years. Next year will be a bloodbath, an embarassment, as we get stomped in the Big House.
LOL Ok that sounds better.
VERY happy with this hire and VERY happy with Brady Hoke (so far).
He knows Michigan and says all the right things. I don't know if any of you have seen his presser when he accepted the job, but the whole preaching toughness and saying that game against that school in ohio was THE MOST IMPORTANT GAME ON THAT SCHEDULE had me pumped.
Now I wanna see how this transpires on the field. Spring game should be a start.
I don't know just seems like I've seen this situation somewhere before.
Well this is 2011, let's see what happens. It'll take time.
Well after App State there was no where to go, but up.
Hopefully blue can get back to being elite again it's more fun to beat them then.

I was at ND while Mattison was there as an assistant. He was an energetic, high octane sort of guy. I didn't know what to think when he was hired away by Michigan. As one of my friends pointed out, though, look at Monte Kiffin and the success he has had at USC. Generational gaps sometimes are important to keep in mind.
Mattison was DC at ND from 1997-2004. Not exactly golden years for ND
He also says that the age of Mattison is highly upsetting the Michigan base here.

Not really. Some are concerned about the age part but it's not really upsetting anyone around me. And I LIVE in Ann Arbor. People seem to think it was a great hire. I hope he speaking for himself...
