A coupll things.

1. Hounshell and Niklas have been recruited hard for months. Their decisions or recruitment have nothing to do with Tuitts decision

2. ND runs a 3-4, the pass rushers are the OLB's, saying Lynch is more needed because he is a pass rushing DE is like saying a Safety is more needed because he is a run stuffer.

Not necessarily. You can slide the DE down and have the CAT play with his hand down. Am I mistaken?

Best of luck to Stephon wherever he ends up...hopefully Coach Kelly does have something left up his sleeve.

I have a hard time believing that the defensive staff brought in lynch to convert him into a glorified blocker for the inside backers. He will have to adjust but I wouldn't be suprised to see more of a hybrid look(arizona cardinals D) on pass rush situations. At the very least its certainly not the absolute you make it sound...

Darn it also but lets keep our poise hear and give him the respect he deserves. Maybe he will reconsider. What a unit Notre Dame could have with guys that are already coming and this stud.

Yeah I agree I hope that post didn't make me sounds like I was losing my poise. I didn't mean for it to. Its his decision, and who knows we could get him back. Best of luck to him if he stays at GT.

..and that would be?

The rumor is that if you commit to Notre Dame you drop in the rankings. If you decommit from Notre Dame you rise in the rankings. I won't say if it is true or conspiracy or whatnot, but with some kids it's hard to argue against the facts.

Losing Tuitt is huge, there are still 2 weeks til signing day though. Anything can happen. With the way our staff recruited the D studs this cycle, if he decides to stay at GT, then I am confident we'll gather up some more studs next cycle. Best of luck to him and I hope he doesn't judge all of ND Nation from the comments from his facebook.

yeah, the "facts"? unfortunate for aaron lynch and ishaq williams to rise in the rankings upon their commitments to notre dame.

apparently rivals made an error. we should notify them about this conspiracy asap.

Not to take sides in this debate(infact I would agree with you)....but I'm pretty sure that Rivals final rankings were decided prior to Friday when Ishaq committed.

naa. MF tweeted sunday evening they just completed the top 100/250. this was after the ishaq commitment.

the point is, there is no conspiracy against notre dame. in fact, if anything, our players have been overrated by the services. especially if we base their rankings credibility upon on-field production.

I hope he will get his degree in engineering...

I hope he will get his degree in engineering...

If he's just there to play ball and be one of the 60% who don't graduate, then that's a sad situation. He seems like a thoughtful young man, but I suppose it's hard to tell your folks you're leaving the state when the GT campus is less than an hour from home.

A poster in this thread mentioned that he will be watching his career closely over the next 4-5 years. This will prove to be difficult as GT is rarely on national TV. I thought the same thing about Marvin Austin a few years back when he chose a basketball school over ND. Virtually never saw him play--of course I heard his name in a bad light and thought "Oh yeah--now I remember that guy."

Good luck to you young man--remember, they owe you an education--take it.

Brian Kelly needs to go sit down in front of Tuitt's front door and refuse to leave until he agrees to come back to ND

if all else fails, kidnapping is a good option :whoknows:

Tuitt decommitted from ND for one reason. He will now commit to GT only to flip back to ND later in hopes to catch up to Lynch's thread views and replies. Now that Lynch is on campus, Tuitt thought this was his best opportunity to seize the moment. See you soon Tuitt.

Great spin!

what happened?

You'll have to ask HawaiianIrish-he posted the story but I can't remember which thread its in.

Anyway-I'm hugely bummed about Tuitt. He was my favorite recruit during this cycle. I wish him well with whatever his final decision may be.

Like Maddog77 sig......"If you're afraid of competition, maybe you shouldn't come to Notre Dame."-Brian Kelly. Good Luck to him. Now he only has to play 10 minutes a game and watch the triple option from sideline. Maybe he will come to his senses and realize ND is the place to be...err....prosper!

Tuitt would have walked in and be on the 2 deep. I wish he would reconsider, but please don't start the negative remarks. It only makes the entire fanbase seem small
