What are USC's chances with Amir Carlisle - WeAreSC Forums

This epitomizes what I mean about the collective USC fan base:

1. Not giving a ****/not wanting him
2. Thinking they had no shot at him

I just don't understand how everything changed so quickly. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out... but I give us a 50/50 shot at best. There will be so much ND hate on this visit it will be ridiculous.

It's starting to look like we're done at RB for this year. There are very talented backs in the 2012 class ala Barry Sanders Jr.

Personally, I think we'll be fine at rb next year. Cierre is our featured back and Roberson steps in Hughes's role. It sounds like Kelly was really impressed with the progress that Roberson made this year and his highlight tape is a lot of fun to watch.

Seriously though...

Why USC?

I mean, it's ballsy to not be intimidated by competition.
But this is on a different level.

I mean look at there RBs, and WRs for that matter.

Good luck to whatever decision you make Amir.

Beyond that... they aren't just loaded with talent in front of him.. but they are squandering that talent. They have a coach who hasn't won anything ever and they haven't turned any of these 4*/5* players into an elite player since the linebacker trio. And those guys were cheating on roids.

USC... where talent goes to be underdeveloped, break rules and lose because of an incompetent staff. Fight on!

too true.

USC seems like a weird choice.

And Stanford is more understandable, even with the coaching changes.

But ND makes the most sense.
But I'm not Amir.

We need to send Vince Vaughn to say hello to Amir and do some recruiting for us!

Correct me if i'm wrong but I think the Head Coach is allowed one in home visit per recruit and he just cancelled Kelly's visit 3 days before his announcement. Doesn't sound like Notre Dame is in this mix at all.

He isnt coming....besides the fact that he is a Verbal for good football program, the hiring of the O-Coordinator probably sealed the deal...I don't know why everyone assumes he is Irish...comical

anyway you turn this......it sounds bad for the Irish right now. For some odd reason Amir looks to pick SC over us and Stanford and I don't get it. Especially with the uncertainty that comes with penalties from the NCAA and the fact that LK will have more violations...if he hasnt already.

USC wont have any penalties, everyone needs to relax with that....they appeal and they will win. Besides he will red shirt, and say he competes for a spot his RS FR year, doesn't go to a bowl game...big deal?

The NCAA proved this year that they don't care about cheating. College Football is a business to them. the whole did with cam newton was a ajoke. Him swearing that he didn't know his dad was asking for money. Yes ok and dod you think he was going to admitt to that. We just need to hooe the wood and roberson can carry the load if not were in trouble. And for the person saying about the talent at RB in 2012 Sanders JR won't be coming to ND.

I think he stays with Stanford...his grades are too good for the likes of USC.

Eitherway I do not like the way we are closing things out this year. Missed on Scarlett and now looking like missing out on Carlisle and Ishaq. Tuitt and Lynch are becoming more and more absolutely necessary everyday, especially Tuitt!!

Hoping for better finish!

If we get Lynch then we closed just fine. He was the best player at the AAA game and we keep Tuitt then it's all good.

I see on IrishIllustrated an article stating. "Irish sliding with Carisle??". Does anyone know the details behind this?? I know that BK has cancelled his trip to visit Amir. But, is this just because he is going to visit USC and will visit with BK later??

Yeah basically Amir's father said ND is not out of the mix despite all that's happening.

Agreed. I feel good about the Irish landing both Tuitt and Lynch, but bet against getting Ishaq and Amir. Still, this would be a very good class w/ solidifying Tuitt and Lynch's commitment!

Would've been nice to see Amir in a Irish uniform and he would've fit well in our offense. I am not a member, but the title of the article on IrishIllustrated put closure for our chances with Amir. Push for Savon??

You don't know that any more than any of us do. Their own AD just the other day was interviewed and he seemed resigned to the fact that the sanctions will probably be upheld. So I fully expect them to still be on some sort of sanctions, although nothing would surprise me.

As for Amir, from the SC people I know, they say he is VERY interested in theater, and SC does have the best dept for that. But other than that, why in the hell would he leave his home area and come to play for that sap of a coach under sanctions that will cripple that program??? He just doesn't seem like the SC type of kid at all.

I was actually fine with Ishaq going to PSU b/c he was genuine about the process and seems like a great kid who was torn about his decision, but Amir to SC simply shocks me. If he really is that much into theater and film, then I can see it, but other than that, damn, he just doesn't seem like the type.

It doesn't look good fellas, and damn, I really wanted him to be Irish. Good luck to him...
