actually the fanboys such as yourself need to get a grip...i cant believe the love fest for a kid that still may not end up @ ND. its like he has already re-committed for some of you...

like Winston Wolf said, "well, lets not start sucking each others D's just yet gentlemen"

I realize this. Honestly I could give a **** if he commits to ND. The fact is he made a mistake with how he handled his decommitment and admitted he did. I seriously don't understand how people like yourself can hang on to 1 mistake of a high school kid

This young man has shown guts

This young man has shown guts

Instead of taking the easy way out, this young man (sure, his size hides his youth) faced a tough decision with his head up and shoulders back. No matter how this turns out, he has my respect. In the long run, this saga will help him in life. Let's face it, at 17/18, my toughest choice was which album to buy with limited funds (Boston, The Cars or Van Halen...). Aaron, in case you read this, you really can't go wrong with any of their debut albums.

I think thsi kid no matter where he goes is going to be a stud. hopefully now that he has have some difficult things happen lately with all of this hopefully he will settle down and pick the best school for him which i hope is ND.

i'm not hanging on to his 1 mistake(it was more than 1 by the way) im just not a fan...somebody has got to offset the lovefest around here. additionaly,I dont wish him any ill will i just dont understand how some of you guys can come across like SEC fans: we have to win NOW at ANY cost(self respect). ND recruiting didnt become lacking over night and its not going to be fixed over night, there will be other big time DE's out there he isnt the last one...

I don't have time to check to see if this has been posted already but this is funny...taken from tomahawknation.com. Some of the info is repeat, except for this guy's last bullet point:

On the Aaron Lynch rumors...
What we know right now:
- The talented defensive end's mother told Irish Sports Daily that he is re-opening his recruitment will take a visit to Notre Dame this weekend. Lynch was committed to Notre Dame before flipping to Florida State.
- Lynch's mother has been quite vocal about her preference for Aaron to attend Notre Dame. I don't believe any report about him de-committing until Aaron, and not his mother, says it.
- Lynch has pulled his Facebook page down.
- Lynch is still set to enroll at Florida State on Monday. It is believed that he cannot early-enroll at Notre Dame (different academic standards) like he could at Florida State.
- I think Lynch turns 18 on February 8th, and am not sure what effect that has on him signing a LOI.
- As of Noon Friday, FSU should still be considered the leader for Lynch's services.
- As I noted in the comment section after lunch, there are three false rumors going around that ND people are rumored to be spreading to Lynch. First, they are claiming Jimbo is going to LSU. FALSE. The second rumor is that FSU paid coach Bowen. FALSE. The third rumor is that FSU intends to take five defensive ends. FALSE.
In my opinion if it is true that these things were said, it means Notre Dame is getting desperate. In my opinion, it they lied, they did it too early.
New info from Newberg says that Notre Dame wants Lynch to visit to prevent him from enrolling early at FSU, because as I speculated, he doesn't have the academic credentials to get into Notre Dame at this point. Visiting would give him the Spring semester to get his test scores up.

Doen't feel so good does is FSU fan?

Which one of you guys is spreading these rumors??? :)

the problems started when people (coaches, friends, recruiters) started putting it in his head how hard our academics are and making him question whether he could handle it or not.

Because those of us Subway alumni know that an ND education cannot be accomplished by your average Joe and you cannot be successful by obtaining an education from those inferior state schools.(rolls eyes)

surely you are the authority on manners and common decency...preach on brother!

If your not a fan of this kid then why get involved in the thread? It's clearly a hot topic and posters have strong feelings because of whats already taken place with this kid. If your "not a fan" then don't hang around in the thread stirring things up. Just saying...

The kids 18. Let it play out guys.

Using the Pythagorean Theorem:

(standout player)^2 + (commits to ND)^2= (Ben E. becomes a fan)^2

Why offset the lovefest? Jump on in. The water's fine.

Irishmoore, pretty sure that is a premium article from Rivals site that someone copied and pasted. You might want to consider taking that down.

Anyone else have the feeling that we may look back at this class in a few years, especially defensively, and say it was the one that officially "woke up the echoes"?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. This would actually be a comparatively weak class if we missed out on all of our remaining targets (including Lynch).

If Lynch doesn't show up to class on Monday at FSU then we're in a good place.

Based on the Rivals article, him and Tuitt performing well together tomorrow is a big key for getting him to ND. So here's to hoping the East dominates in the AAA Bowl. Our big advantage there is that the West's OL is reportedly weak.

Look I don't believe I ever posted a derogatory post on this kid or the way he chose to go about his commiting and such. But I hated the way he decommited and his lack of respect at the time. Now that all changed for me before he decommitted from FSU. It happened when he came out in the interview, openned up, showed honesty, and admited he had went about everything the wrong way. A 17 year old kid taking responsibility for his actions. It doesn't happen often these days, he did, and since that day I again became a supporter. Since then he has decommitted from FSU which makes me very very happy!

When I was 17 I burned a phallus into my rival team's baseball field. Asking a kid to handle these huge decisions with the maturity of even a 25 year old is like asking Tony Siragusa to pass up a free dinner at Golden Corrall...it might happen once in a while, but you can't expect that to be the norm. Give him a break.
