I can't see this happening but who knows these days. I can't imagine any programs telling him no if he showed up ready to sign.
I think Lynch elicits so much passion here because he seemed like such a natural fit. Mother a Notre Dame fan, grandfather a huge Notre Dame fan, spreading his grandfather's ashes on campus, his mom being on here and active, saying things we all loved. What's not to love about that.
Add to that he plays at a position that is most sensitive to most of us, d-line where we have had so many disappointments. Definitely some open wounds there.
I personally saw him as the single player that could most be associated with Notre Dame's revival. Kelly is going to get it done, and if Aaron produced like we think he can, he would have become a great name in our football history. Now it's a team game but his popularity would have set him apart, especially with Mama Lynch in the stands.
Now maybe he goes on to be an All-American at FSU, but he'd be just another AA there. At Notre Dame he could have been legend. Would have been great.
I was disappointed when he de-committed but he did it early, didn't say that BS where Notre Dame is still being considered (that never happens). It was clean. I have sons his age and texting is a second language to these guys. Most of us probably would have done it differently but texting is a serious social avenue to these kids. It still beat the hell out of Greg Little (no communication) as an example.
I can't carry a grudge. Wish him the best, Mama Lynch too! Wish he would change his mind too!
