'11 IL WR DaVaris Daniels (Signed Notre Dame LOI)

Counting my ‘bet against ND’ winnings
Manti, Jimmy, Darius Walker (only a three star but we needed a back BAD that year and he was the only on worth being excited about) and this kid... those are the ones I looked forword to, with this level of excitement

he has household name written all over him.

he looks to be a stud... different than Floyd He has an NFL body probably like a Crabtree and he can absolutely fly

Just saw that DaVaris "toot" Daniels has a hernia.... Not sure the severity of the injury, just hope it's nothing too serious. I can't wait for this kid to get on campus.

Yikes! If he is healthy and Floyd leaves I can see this kid contributing immediately and maybe even starting.

if its a "sports hernia" not really the type of injury to be too concerned about. if treatment goes well he'll be ready to rock-n-roll come spring

Football | Vernon Hills' DaVaris Daniels to play in Under Armour All-American Game
Share |

Vernon Hills football star DaVaris Daniels will be the lone representative from Illinois to participate in the Under Armour All-American Game.

The Notre Dame recruit will play on the White Micro G team on January 5, 2011, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.

Daniels was named to the Chicago Tribune's All-State first team after turning in 19 total touchdowns this season. He had 23 receptions for 513 yards and five touchdowns as a receiver.

Lone rep from Illinois. Doesn't say much for the Land of Lincoln but at least the one guy is Irish!

He played RB/WR/KR

He scored on a couple crazy Kick Returns. He's pretty shifty for his size. I think the video is somewhere in this thread.

Old Man Mike

Fast as Lightning!
Loved the highlights. Rap "rhythm" was OK for the action. [Some of the words were pretty far out-of-line for Notre Dame...maybe 18 year olds don't listen to the words much...I hope.] Still, a great potential talent; and ND has a good effect on almost everyone in every way. Looks big enough to be in the Floyd/Kamara-type receiving position. Long-striding deceptive ground-covering reminds me of Floyd. It would be nice if Mike is still here next year to give Daniels some OldMan tips about getting the ball in traffic over everybody else.

I'll feel even better about this class when we add Ishaq and Amir. O it's gonna happen. Anything more than that is a bonus.

I think with Davaris Daniels, George Atkinson, and Ben Koyack, Notre Dame has the best and most explosive group of pass catchers in this years class.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that DaVaris is pleased with his decision to come to South Bend over Miami...

I agree with both of you woolybug25 and Irish Man3, Daniels and Rabasa could very well see early playing time and will be pleased with their decision to come to ND.

He has a formspring queston asked to him posted on his facebook. The question is: "do you talk bout ND with any of hte uncommitted propsects or no?" His answer: "I have with one. He said he knows its gonna be the ish and he's really interested"

Thats what I like to hear. Just wish I knew who he was talking into joining. And his facebook pic is him in a blue Irish hoodie and a white ND stocking cap. He is all ND, no question.

If DeVaris could bring Amir with him that would be enormous. As I said in another thread, we need a high end RB this year to fill in the depth for losing AA and Hughes.

Frankly I'm really excited for Devaris though, I think he is going to be our next great receiver.
