That's a shame. Hope it's not anything too significant.

This is really unfortunate. I wonder what's preventing him...I'm concerned that people will (mistakenly) think he was the player involved in the Seeburg case.

His last tweet...

Why do people call friends when there's an emergency instead of calling 911? I'm just curious...

I was really hoping to see him have a big game. His career at ND has been less than stellar. Sucks.

The Jersey City, N.J., product ends his relatively disappointing career in South Bend with 86 receptions for 893 yards and nine TDs. John Goodman or Jones will likely start in his absence.

That's a tough line for the last word on his ND career. Let me add: though Duval never put up the stats people expected when he came in, he transformed himself into a leader on the team and finished his senior season with a reputation for blocking hard and coming up with the clutch catch.

Wonder what's going on? Would have been nice to see him have a big game in his last game of his career. he has been huge for us over the last few games.

Notre Dame's Duval Kamara out for personal reasons - ESPN

...as an ND fan I was hard on Duval...but was way impressed with his turnaround this year in terms of doing the things he was asked to do...accepting his role. I am a Duval fan now

...I wanted him to be there...I wanted him to light it up.

Based on his perfprmance this year, and his attitude, I see him as a character guy...whatever has overcome his ability to play in this game...I know he can handle it, and wish him well.

He was not involved in the Seeberg case. On one article it said it was a freshman. (Bleacher report I think)

Let's hope he gets invited to the combine and does freally well!

Kelly made a comment in a recent press conference I think that Duval had an injury problem with his hand, but hoped he'd be OK by the game. That's my memory. Someone else can step up and give the exact quote.

So if his personal issue is resolved later in the week, he isn't allowed to join the team late?

I'd like to think it was due to the aforementioned injury, but the article cites 'personal reasons'. If it was just an injury he would have been there with the team (note Kyle Rudolph's presence in one of the videos from El Paso). Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Also, I want to clarify that I was concerned people would mistakenly associate him with the Seeburg case because the only two ND-related articles on ESPN's college football page concern Jenkins's comments and Duval's absence. It just popped into my head that people could be making faulty assumptions and I was voicing that concern here.

Notre Dame Football: Top 10 Things Irish Fans Want From Santa | Bleacher Report

First of all, people accusing the school of covering up a sexual assault to protect a football player have such a warped sense of how the University of Notre Dame operates it’s sickening. This is a school that has suspended a star basketball player for possession of marijuana (Kyle McAlarney) and kicked a starting tight end (Will Yeatman) out of school for an underage drinking ticket. Yet some seem completely convinced the administration would sweep a sexual assault under the rug to save a freshman football player. Does that not seem absurd to anyone?

Here is the article.

With the way it is worded, it seems like a slip by the author is why I thought it might be true.

Why don't they just disable the comments section on these articles?? It's just pure trash.

Come on.....anyone following the Seeberg case at all and has an internet connection knows it doesn't involve Duval. He played great in a somewhat diminished role, missed a few catches and made a few great ones. Great athlete! Hopefully gets his degree and moves on to the next stage of life. Sorry he won't be part of beating the U. Go Duval! Go Irish!

Like everyone else here, was very disappointed to hear this. He really came in for us later in the season and did some great things. Was hoping he would go out with a bang. The most important thing is that he gets his diploma and has a successful life. Wish him the best of luck.

the timing is exactly right for grades. That seems to be -by far- the most likely explanation.

yeah, probably grades. In one of his older tweets he said something like, "I think one of my professors is out to get me."

“I would run with that. That sounds good to me,” then added, “I’d like to stick him in a snowdrift. No, personal reasons is the reason why he’s not here.”

Kamara screwed up. Kelly is pissed at him. Grades are the answer.

Kelly is pissed because he probably had him pretty involved in the game plan for this game. Without Kamara, UM defense can really press Floyd's side of the field. Kamara brought a big body that could go up and get the ball. I say we throw a little bit of Daniel Smith out there. He has size and Kelly talked about being impressed with him. I want the SIZE out there. TJ is just so small.

Ah Man, come on Duval...Well I hope he fixes what he needs to fix so he can graduate.

This sucks...he's really been a nice surprise, and his blocking is good. I am afraid some of those big plays turn into 5-6 yarders because our other guys are too small to control someone when they block...I'm with ya, maybe Smith can help there

bad enough this team had to overcome injuries...to have to deal with a self inflicted wound sucks

looks like the Hughes train just got a little more important...

I'm more of the opposite opinion.

Give me the players like Jones, Toma and Riddick...the guys who can take a screen pass for 30 yards or burn past someone in the slot for a big gain.

Losing Kamara hurts, and he is a good blocker, but where would you have put the over/under on his receptions?

2? Maybe 3?
