Good going, young man. I had a grad school roommate once who was at Western Reserve Law School. He said that the first year was largely confusion, where your will and your thinking ability were more tested than your memory. Almost no one really knew where they stood, but that hard work even in the face of the confusion pulled people through. If you can, you might find some trustworthy second or third years to give you a heads-up. By the way my roommate was an ex-Holy Cross offensive tackle of near-NFL skills, so if that big ape could do it you can. [Gary, if you're out there, just kidding--love ya, man].
