All is I can speculate is that everyone should come into spring ball even and then let the best man win! They all have their pros and cons and I believe our coach will have our starter and his back ups ready to ball.

It will most certainly a spring battle. Kelly has seemed to support the notion that the guy playing the best will start. Looking forward to all the speculation come spring practice

If my memory serves me correct, at Cinci Kelly started t Collaras over Pike even after Pike was back healthy because of how well he was playing. There is a good chance we get good contributions from a couple QBs next season.

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing Pike start over Collaros in the game vs Pitt.

In the 2009 Cinci season Pike started 9 of the 10 games he played. Collaras started only 4 but played in 12. Both QBs were utilized at times when neither were injured. I rephrase my comment to Kelly played Collaras even when Pike was healthy.

I've been wondering this for a while now: Why does the thread headline say that Golson's from NC when he's from SC?

last I checked, our Bball team is full of three star recruits with plenty on the roster below that. Behind Atkins there is nothing which means significant PT potential (especially if Brey has finally learned to go more than 6 deep). Definitely an athlete who will be hitting the weight room so hopefully good potential as a PG defender.

Hey Charlie Ward won a Heisman as QB and started PG for FSU, and went on the play for the Knicks right? (another 6 foot QB too)

His entire State Championship Game video is up if anyone wants to check it out. He has better arm strength than I thought, and you can't help but being impressed with the kid. I'm very excited for our future at QB:

*Clowney is absolutely unreal. He is going to be an absolute star.

His size is the only reason he is not a top10 top5 qb. Everything else is there. That is all good especially in college.

Geez - this kid is good. Made some good strong throws rolling to his left. Fit the ball in some tight spaces. Good runner, patient with a good burst.

Great athlete playing quarterback, Kelly will turn him into a great quaterback who is an athlete. You can see the point guard in him, definitely in charge on the field.

Still a little raw, mechanics can improve but shouldn't be a problem.

Clowney is an absolute stud! Hope he goes somewhere way down south, Brazil would be good.

My question is, do we redshift him and keep a extra year of him also allowing him to learn and develope or do we open up the qb position next year? We all have to realize that after next year there will be a transfer or two at the qb position. At least I think so but I know I wouldn't trade a ND degree for anything

Why a transfer? Everybody is assuming that Crist will make it back; I love his heart. but if you have ever had a problem with a patelar tendon, speed and the ability to plant your foot are gone . . . It will be a hard climb for him.

As far as the rest, have you seen how many qb's Kelly has used before he arrived at ND? (And notice, he needed more than one this year.) The bigger the program, the more quarterbacks he has used. What did he use at Cinci in one year?

2 things.

Rehabs are a lot better than they were before. You can come back from injuries which destroy careers before... Crist can come back from this.

Golson's involvement in the offense next year will depend on the development of the other QBs. I think that if Kelly has 3 guys ahead of Goslon, which he should, he will redshirt him.

i fully expect Golson to try and see the field next year or else why be an EE and also is he going to (can he) get into the hoops mix for this season as an EE?

Ha!!! Couldn't resist this, and no offense Marine. "Redshift" means moving away from "someone" so fast that the light rays "stretch" towards the Red end of the spectrum [as in the data for the expanding universe.] Therefore I'd like to go on record as being not in favor of redshifting away from Everett Golson---blueshifting maybe, but that might be too pushy. Please forgive me, Marine; it is posted with affection [and the assumption of a typo].

I lived in Newport News/Yorktown for 10 years. Lots of great talent in that area. Over the span of a few years, I got to see Alan Iverson, Ronald Curry and Michael Vick in HS games. All great, great football players. HS football was extremely fun to watch down there. Which QB are you referring to bigeasy?

it was more or less trivia question. but i was thinking AI, kid moves around like him on the football field. plus some of his bb highlights are solid. he is raw but aren't most true athletes.
