What happens if Harbaugh leaves to coach the skunkbears? That might impact how much he likes Stanford. Something to think about...

Set his OV for the last weekend in Jan. according to ISD.

Is that going to be his last visit? Sucks that it will be super cold and snowy, but we may be able to pull off a steal here. That is some seriously elite speed.

Notre Dame in the winter is still beautiful and awesome he is also looking at Northwestern which is cold ... Standford depends if Harbaugh leaves

Was on Northwestern's campus today for all day orientation. It's not even close to as nice as ND's from an aesthetic standpoint.

Yes it is his last visit. It's the weekend before NSD. He has already visited Stanford, Northwestern, and Rutgers.

Many think that the recruitments of Shuler and Huggins may be tied together, I think it comes down to Rutgers and ND for Shuler and Huggins (the only 2 schools they share of their favorites are Rutgers and ND)

according to irish eyes....Shuler said unless some big time recruits are going to Rutgers...he doubts he is going there

The Package Deal Factor
"Miles Shuler says he probably won't choose Rutgers unless some other big-time recruits do."

A question I posed on the Bennett Okotcha thread that is better placed on this one; How might the commitment (albeit verbal) of Okotcha affect the staff recruiting Shuler? I believe he was/is being recruited as a DB. Might he now be recruited as a WR? Speed like this doesn't come around very often so I'd be willing to bet Kelly and Co. just want to get him into the program.

He was being recruiting as a slot receiver I believe.

I know it's been mentioned but what are the actual chances of Shuler and Huggins being a package deal?

I think it depend on the school. Schuler has said that he wouldn't go to Rutgers unless some other big name recruits did (reading between the lines= their number one target, Huggins).

Kids this fast to come around often. If we could close with him, Ishaq and Huggins I would declare this class a huge victory.

We still have a shot here to do something really special with this recruiting class.

i really do not see, or have seen anything about this kid that would make me think we have a shot. If he was not friends with Huggins i would have taken him off my recruiting list long ago

Why exactly would anyone think we don't have a shot with this kid? He's visiting Stanford, Northwestern and Rutgers, and somehow we don't have a chance?

Having the last visit with him means we have the last opportunity before NSD to make an impression with this guy. I think we have as good of a chance with him as we do with any of our remaining recruits.

Also, just saw this on his Scout profile. I like it. He really is committed to the classroom. Sounds like an RKG.

"Shuler plans to major in biology or chemistry and reports a 3.8 core GPA. Although he took the SAT, he prefers not to disclose his score. “It wasn’t as good as I hoped for.” He will be retaking the test in January."

Go science! Maybe he'll become a doctor...

Bio/chem major? man that is tough. I came to ND w/ a 3.8 gpa and my gpa didn't go anywhere but down immediately. I suspect he'll choose something that is not as difficult as the sciences, especially if he is committed to a sport like football at ND.

LOL, it's definitely difficult, but it's been done by other football players in the past.
