Have you ever felt better after a Notre Dame football game?

If so, which game?

I can think of a couple of wins over Michigan that felt pretty good. Kicking Hawaii's butt felt pretty good. But this is by far the best I've ever felt after a win by the Irish! I was bursting with joy for the rest of the night!

I found myself saying here we go again once USC took the lead with a few minutes left. It was such a good feeling watching ND win but also by doing it by running it down USC's throats.

UCLA in '06. That was friggin nuts. But even that didn't compare to Michigan State in '06. After their flag planting **** the year before that felt AMAZING.

Ahh both great ones! I was there for the UCLA game and that is probably my favorite memory from Notre Dame Stadium, even after rushing the field after the Utah game. And the Mich. St. game was one of the more amazing games ever, and definitely sweetened because of the flag thing (I stood up in the middle of a restaurant and yelled at a tv when they did that haha). However, I didn't feel quite as redeemed after either of those. They were definitely two that I could go around saying "DID YOU SEE THAT?!" but they were both games that shouldn't have been that close in the first place, and they didn't have the same feeling as this one for me. This game I felt nothing but pure joy afterwards. It wasn't as surprising or "amazing" as the other two, but it was more fulfilling. I'll be walking around saying, "Hey... we beat USC." for probably the next year. Seeing that scoreboard go "FINAL" with the ND number higher than the USC number was almost surreal (as sad as that may be to say) after the last 8 years.

Never felt this good. I was at Saturday's game in the Coliseum...it was my last regular season game as a ND undergrad. Couldn't ask for a better way to go out. Kicking the **** out of #14 Utah and then bringing down Troy.

Great way to end a few rough football seasons. Even better way to end a great few years at ND.

You felt better after all of these than after Saturday's win?

I can understand numbers 1, 2, and 3, but Washington 2009 and Pitt 2005? Not as good as this imo... not nearly as good.

I always feel either relieved or happy after a win, but I got very emotional after the 07 win at UCLA YouTube - Notre Dame UCLA 2007 Highlights (not a very good picture, but...) and this year's Utah game, and last night's game.

I guess ND playing its best when times were worst just shook me up good. I mean, there was a moment at the end of the game last night when the camera was on Kelly. I was talking to my neighbor and all of a sudden I could not speak and had to wipe my eyes.

GREAT JOB COACH KELLY.

Definately those two! I can still picture that Terrell Lambert INT against MSU. Also vs USC in '05 for those few mintues when I rushed on to the field only to be called back to the sidelines and then have Bush push Leinert into the endzone... :\

This win was so awesome and left me with the best feeling I have had about ND football in a very long time. This win was huge for us for so many different reasons. We finally ended an 8 game win streak by those bastards. We finished up our season on a very high note, winning all our games in the month of November. We showed that despite some of our slip-ups during the course of the season, that this football team had the resolve and will to get better and win the games we absolutely had to. Finally, we get to go to a decent bowl game now after only about a month ago we were doubting if we would go bowling at all. Way to Go IRISH!!!! The last time I felt this good was maybe the win over FSU in 02 and of course the last time we won the NC in 1988.

In recent memory I would say the Michigan game in '08 that I was at was awesome. Just the look on UM fans faces when we stomped them. Nice win coming off the dreadful '07 season. The Hawaii Bowl of course. And the 35-0 opener against Nevada felt like the team was headed for something big. Of course that proved not to be the case.

The so called "game of the century/decade" 1993 vs F$U
or 1994 Cotton Bowl win against Texas A&M (Although Nebraska's kicker didn't help us out that day)
or 2002 smack down at F$U

This feeling is pretty intensely great, as there is no team I enjoy watching our boys beat more than U$C, and the way they did it actually made me emotional.

I do, however, remember coming unglued for many hours after the great win over Florida State in 1993... The two games are very close in overall emotion for me.

Maybe the Utah game because I was there, but this is really damn high.

I was at the Utah game also. But for me this one felt WAY better than that or almost any in recent memory. I was at the MSU game last year and the Washington. They both felt amazing. Watching Tate dive into the MSU band, and sitting in the endzone that we threw the winning TD in OT and Washington failed to convert as the ball fell from the Washington recievers hands was phenominal.

1. Washington last year. (Was in the OT endzone and my boy got to pat he players as they ran to the field and caught a players arm band)
2. MSU last year. (Tate diving into the MSU band is unforgetable)
3. USC now. (We needed this win and it was our destiny to finish this season in the manor we did)

1973 Sugar Bowl vs Alabama

1973 Sugar Bowl vs Alabama

My freshman year. Was in the ND band. Still remember Tom Clements throwing that long pass to Robin Weber from DEEP in our own end of the field with about 2 minutes left to ice the game. And a National Championship.

I love Tom Clements!

Though I was happy to beat U$C, obviously, but they are pretty weak this year compared to normal. Spanking Utah was actually more impressive. I don't see USC beating ND as long as Kelly and Kiffin are coaches.

1. 1977 Southern Cal "green jersey" (oh, no, shouldn't have said "green jersey" again :)) game my first year at ND, sitting in the student section. I could write a small book about that experience.

2. The Cotton Bowl at the end of that season against Texas to seal the National Championship. We were on Christmas break, and I was sick as a dog with the flu, lying on my back in my old bedroom at my parent's house. But, sick as I was, remember just going nuts between all the puking and sh**ing that comes with the flu. "Wasn't looking too good, but I was feelin' pretty well."

The good feeling that comes from last Saturday's game, for me, doesn't come from the fact of the win itself, although that is good. It is from finally seeing a glimmer of hope that ND might be back on the road to the greatness that once was.
