yea. BK has said he needs the qb to be able to run and keep the defense honest. That was the problem at the begining of the year with Crist and his knee. We havent run an effective zone read all year because nobody is scared of our qb. Golson changes all that. Very exciting player and would be huge for us.

exactly he makes the offense work ideally... he can run the offense with Rees or Massa or Hendrix or Crist but it works most ideally with a player like Golson

Why exactly would Mauk be perfect?

I want to see this class finish strong, Golson or Brisset would be a great addition.

He plays in a spread offense already, is athletic, and at least his brother excelled in the BK offense. But I do want Golson, too.

Thanks for answering that question for me.

I'm not saying I don't want Golson, I'm just saying we are still sitting pretty with Maty.

With that said, Golson also runs the spread, is athletic, and would fit the BK system. They're both undersized as well, although I really don't think that will be a problem. I give Mauk the slight edge for the moment because of his brother's knowledge of the BK system, but both will be great. Although they still have to beat the current QBs on the roster for the starting job.

Dude nothing i said was negative. I was saying that His brother knew the offense and was good at it. His brother runs that style of offense but not the same. He might not be able to run it that good. I think this Golson kid is going to be a star.

I'm going to call BS on this one. No recruiting services are reporting this, including ESPN.Can't find anywhere that has even remotely said this.

That sucks lots. Really hope Golson comes on board, the only downside with him based on what I've read is his height. I don't care if he's 6'0 so long as he's solid otherwise.

As for the allegation that people are 'speaking negatively' about Mauk by pointing out that he and his brother are different people, I really don't understand how he's been annointed as the next ND QB when he's a 16 year old 3 star recruit. People need to realize he's very far from a lock to be our next QB.

Personally, I would be very surprise if Kelly didn't have Mauk top 3 in his 2012 board. Kelly knows what he is getting with Mauk, he has known him for a very long time. Regardless, I think you take Golson this year, and you take at least another QB next year.

Seems like it will be a photo finish...I like that he is smart enough to stop and think- and is not allowing his emotions to get the best of him. Cerebral decision....

Seems like an RKG to me. Would really be a + in our class. Hopefully he makes the right decision:D

Rivals spoke to his coaches and they said that those closest to him feel like he will be at ND. He was wow'ed by the school experience and the coaching staff. Expect a decision at the earliest - Dec. 4 at the state finals

I was pleasantly surprised watching his highlight tape how often he throws. It looks like he throws a nice deep ball which will give the future stars like Daniels and Atkinson an opportunity to go up and get it.

And at the end of the day, it's always nice to know that he has the legs to run when the opportunity presents itself.

I am glad to know that our coaching staff made his visit here something to remember.

If this young man is a thoughtful person, he HAS to think that there are MAJOR possibilities of the NCAA really walloping UNC. Even Seantrel Henderson thought that such a situation wasn't in his best interest at USC. Gotta believe we have a great opportunity here, especially when BK hinted that he thought we were going to get a QB in this class afterall [a couple of weeks ago].

He would be more then just a + to our class. Besides beefing up the D with another DE, OLB, S (as we have witnessed how far a productive defense can mean to a team), he has to be one of the most important recruits in this class. He may have a Denard Robinson effect on our offense. Great mobility with accuracy and touch on the ball = stud in the spread.

Heres to hopeing his team wins the States on Dec 4th and after the game he brings out the ND hat....on another note, with the terrible coverage for the USC game, it is too bad recruits like Golson will not be able to watch. We all know it will be a game huge for recruiting and the kids will be able to see it over and over again on Sportscenter anyway, but I feel it is not the same as sitting down and watching it in its entirety live. A 60 second clip vs 3 hours of seeing coaches, players, and golden helmets..

Just to let everyone know.
I was just searching through Rivals about Golson...and apparently they have him down to only 2 schools, N.C. and ND. IT shows him still committed, but with high interest in us.
Just thought it was interesting.
