This is a great opportunity for Crist to put up some great numbers and get his season back on the right track and build up his confidence a little bit. I want and expect to see a big game from him. Would love to see him pass for at least 350 yards and 3+touchdowns.

Was a favorite against Navy also! They'll be fine ... a little "Kelly ***-kicking" this week in practice and game day preparations will work wonders, I'm sure! :)

yeah, hopefully through all his ***-kicking he'll actually realize what sort of offense tulsa is running and wont have to like like a friggin fool at halftime (im pretty sure navy has run the same offense for oh about the last 8 centuries)...maybe he can get his damn team prepared and he wont have to bitch and moan through the whole game and throw his players under the bus afterwards...

Some teams are "good" statistically at run defense because they're so easy to pass against and their opponents like to pass. We have the analogous situation in the MAC most years, and even the Big 12 has had its skewed stats because of offensive emphases. Lets hope that they simply can't stop much of anything. I too am out of the prediction business though.

They rank tied for 28th in rushing yards per attempt given up, so I don't think that's it. Maybe I'm wrong, I'll be damned if I know any of their players.

the way i look at it Notre Dame is really a 2 or 3 loss team, because we played half the Michigan game without Christ, and when he was in we were the better team. Against Michigan State they pulled that win out of their ***, we are a lot better than our record, but that loss to navy is unexceptable.

Although I understand your points about the close losses to Michigan and Michigan State..., we still managed to lose both of those games. We also got our butts kicked against Stanford and Navy. We are 4-4. We have to play a full football game with limited miscues and mistakes and have a little luck go our way too. The question is now..., How will we respond to a poor performance against Navy last weekend? Will we bounce back? or will we play poorly? I want to think we will bounce back and win big this weekend and hopefully be competitive against Utah and USC and maybe even get an upset. In my opinion, we can beat Tulsa and Army..., The big question is can we play 1 solid game of football against Utah or USC and get a BIG win against a quality football team. If we can somehow do that, I would be elated and I think people will realize that when it's all said and done, Notre Dame football made a big step towards getting better and things will look brighter for next year and years to come.

This probably has little relevance to the actual game about to be played, but it might interest some folks a bit. It has been said that Tulsa has a good run defense and perhaps they do. But....When one looks at their schedule you see that the teams they've played are not elite running teams. ECU, Tulane, Memphis, and BG rank between #97 & #120 in the NCAA D-1 with BG being dead last. Another opponent was D-2 Central Arkansas. The best running team on the schedule has been Oklahoma State. OK-State went for a modest but not insignificant amount of running yards, but it seems that they didn't want to bother, as they amassed almost 600 yards in the air out of their 770 or so. SMU, the other decent potential running opponent, also emphasized the air and piled up yardage. So Tulsa may be able to stop the run or maybe it might not. I believe that this question will resolve around our own execution [we're not exactly stellar ourselves] rather than the ferocity of the opponent.

Numbers aside, I want to see Dayne and his decision making take a giant step forward tomorrow. I think it is very important going into the bye week for him to gain some confidence while preparing for Utah.

Back to the numbers, I would love to see him complete 75% of his passes for about 315 yeards and 4 touchdowns.

I want to see Eifert to continue to step up and prove himself to be more than a stand in for Kyle.

I hope that Floyd picks up where he left off against Western Michigan and before his injury. He should put up similar numbers against this defense.

Wood and Allen should combine for about 125-150 yards and a possible score.

Should be a good game for the Irish nation who will have heavy hearts after this weeks tragedy. Hopefully his is a game that can turn our attention away from the tragedy.

I hope that with everything that happened BK has these guys ready to play. I would be nice for this offense to have about 600 yards of offense.

There has never been more uncertainty in this program in its HISTORY than this moment.

This will be the most moving game EVER played in this storied stadium. That will be a powerful experience for everyone in that crowd.

I don't think I will be able to stop the tears once 1:30 arrives.

God bless Declan Sullivan. God grant those involved a humble heart, and those that grieve the spirit to forgive.

We are ND.

My prediction: There will be at least one ND fan watching the game today, not wrapped up in drama, controversy, or all the other stuff that makes us live small in our own lives. Me.

Com' on guys. Lets get off our knees or asses or whatever we are on and lets act like we were born to live.

My prediction: You would have to be a heartless ***hole to not think about this weeks tragedy at least once today. I hope thats not what you were just referring to because I dont think that qualifies as drama.

I'm going to play it like i hope a spiritual human being would: some honest respectful sympathies and a prayer for the Sullivan family, and then gently leave that aside and watch the game with my 94-year-old mom as two ND football fans.

im from memphis so i watch tulsa play a lot due to conference USA games and i think some of you are completely underrating this team. they score points. its basically the same offense as what we run. only problem with them is their defense. dayne should be able to drop bombs on them all day, if not, wow. tommy rees time

I'm sure you are right. The question is will the players and coaches be able to do the same. The reality is they are dealing directly with something more powerful than a football game. You hope we will play inspired, but wouldn't be surprised if they came out flat.

Emotion is exhausting.

We will win this game. BK will come out firing and we will not be slowed down. They have a great offense but I believe the talent level will show early and often. I may be wrong, but I put all my vbucks on it. That has to mean something right?????????

When's the last time we saw four players lumbering on crutches to the sideline? Ouch.
