This probably has little relevance to the actual game about to be played, but it might interest some folks a bit. It has been said that Tulsa has a good run defense and perhaps they do. But....When one looks at their schedule you see that the teams they've played are not elite running teams. ECU, Tulane, Memphis, and BG rank between #97 & #120 in the NCAA D-1 with BG being dead last. Another opponent was D-2 Central Arkansas. The best running team on the schedule has been Oklahoma State. OK-State went for a modest but not insignificant amount of running yards, but it seems that they didn't want to bother, as they amassed almost 600 yards in the air out of their 770 or so. SMU, the other decent potential running opponent, also emphasized the air and piled up yardage. So Tulsa may be able to stop the run or maybe it might not. I believe that this question will resolve around our own execution [we're not exactly stellar ourselves] rather than the ferocity of the opponent.
