Even my maternal grandmother used to refuse to believe that there was a state called West Virginia. Grin and bear it....

Gotta love those maternal grandmothers. They can be a stitch. One never knows what they'll choose to believe or not believe. My maternal grandmother denied MY existence – unless I was standing in front of her.

Why? Because I was a twin. In her world view, only animals had multiple births, not humans. My sister and I were figments, an abomination. I only learned of her belief after she'd passed away in 1983 (at the age of 100) when a cousin came to Minneapolis and we we were talking while at dinner.

It's no wonder my Lutheran mother preferred hanging out with my father's Irish Catholic family where twins were considered a blessing.

Grin and bear it is the road to go.

That is awesome news that BK and Alford are at his high school game. Reminds me of Te'o, didn't Weis go to one of his high school games??

From what ive seen on ISD's Updates on twitter, Huggins had 4 TD's, and his last was a 78 yarder...Kelly missed apparently after seeing the 1st 3 was more than enough.

Yes. If I am not mistaken, Weiss flew to Hawaii (about a ten hour flight), watched the game and was only on the island for about 5-6 hours, then boarded a plane back. I remember thinking how exhausting that would have been, but I bet it showed Manti how bad we wanted him.

Please tell me "Weiss" is just a typo, after he coached at Notre Dame for five seasons and you even quoted someone spelling it correctly.

I found this article online:

5-Star Running Back Savon Huggins Talks Notre Dame Football, Do Irish Lead? | Bleacher Report

Interesting quote:
"[Kelly has] flat out told me that if I play the best there I’m going to be the running back next year. He’s hands on and I respect that type of coaching. I don’t want a coach that just lets you walk past him when you make a mistake. I want someone that will tell me when I do something right and get in my face if I do something wrong.”

I like Cierre Wood to be our running back next year.

Irishandy,
What are you seeeing from Cierre that I am not??? He has flashes, but his tenative running drives me crazy. He needs to learn that every run is not going to the house.

Jonesman,
I agree with you that he always tries to duke left and right (that drives me crazy as well if that is what you are referring to) and your last sentence has a key word, "learn." Cierre is young and is still in the learning process. I do see a better back next year that can break one to the house- Cierre. He's gotten better on his pass blocking, but he needs to work better on his 2-step. Don't get me wrong I would love to see Huggins commit to ND, but with the offensive line that we currently have...scary. I think if we had a better offensive line Armando would've ran the ball better.

Well, Cierre is likely to be the starter for the remainder of the season with Armando out...

It will be a one, two punch between the two if it works out that he becomes Irish. Savon may be the #1 but we will still see plenty of Cierre and lets not forget Roberson. At this point with all the de-commits, Savon would be a huge get for us.

Don't forget about Justice either! Savon would be a bonus, but not a necessity at this point. Defense is what ND needs.
