Yeah I'm shocked at this. I can't say that I'm really excited though. I truly hope this kid got his act together.

It's surprising to me that everyone is poo-poo'in this kid because he got kicked off his team. Most of you dont even know what happened. He didnt get in trouble with the law or get kicked out of school, he got in a fight with a teammate.

Most of the people on this thread are saying this kid isn't a RKG because of this, but have no problem with Floyd's multiple discretions. Its hypocrytical.

I know not everyone feels that way about Floyd, but I know some of the peeps in this thread trashing this kid want Floyd to be back. What this kid did is no where near what Floyd did, but for some reason everyone is acting like he is a criminal.

In fact, the coach didn't even make the call on this. Bennie got into a fight with a Senior (as a Junior, mind) and the seniors of the team voted him off. He later earned his spot back on the team, which should say something about his character.

Fair enough, I read the article.. seems like he has done some growing up. Could have just been immature at the time.. Let's hope he at least won the fight because that would of sucked if he got kicked off and got his *** kicked at the same time.

I don't think anyone here was trashing this kid. I think a few of us were just a little concerned about him getting kicked off his team last year. I admit though that I for one did not know the whole story. If the coaches want him and he is good to go without issues then sign the kid up.

I wonder what the status of the offer really is. I don't have premium on scout but it looks likes the article today was them contacting him about his interest in ND. It's unclear that anything went out today and if ND is really recruiting him hard at this point.

Anyway, I hope we do take a long look at him. He is a great athlete and the kind of QB that our depth gives us the luxury of developing. Whatever issues he has had and is working on, I have no doubt that he would do well at ND.

So I watched Coney's Sophomore highlights. I'm curious what all the hoopla is about. Am I missing something? He does throw a nice deep ball and seems to move around pretty fluidly. That aside, his stats are pretty average (TD-Int ratio is especially alarming), however. I'm not trying to flame this kid in any way. I'm just curious what it is the coaches see in him? What exactly was it that brought him to their attention? Is it all based on 7-on-7 camps? Or is the answer somewhere in this highlight video and I'm just missing it?
