Now this is one way to improve. I am not sure I would want to brace for a collision from Teo. I do like the determination to get better.

Notre Dame's Wood taking hits from Te'o to become a more complete back

On second thought, perhaps it would be interesting to feel the pop that Teo delivers. Could be a good piece for someone to write. "I got trucked by Manti Teo, but to ensure that it was a hard hit, I asked Ian Williams to do the same." Yes, Yes, this would be a good article to read.

Is anybody here curious to see what it feels like to absorb a hit by someone on the team?

I would LOVE for the chance to get a few carries at the D-1 level just to get a sense of the speed and the power of those guys.

As for Cierre, you could tell he was running a lot harder last week. It sounds and looks like he's taking his early struggles the right way. I also think Armando and (probably) Hughes have been phenomenal role models for him. I love the attitude and the determination he's showing by going out of his way to address his weaknesses.

Cierre Wood scores two TDs this week. Take that to the bank.

I like Cierre Wood alot. This kid has shown alot of hard work and good effort. I love how he didnt make any excuses and how he is working is tail off to get better. He is going to be something special and I wouldn't be surprised either if he scores at least two touchdowns this weekend.

star player in the making!!!!

star player in the making!!!!

way to swallow some pride, put in the hard work and he will be a better player because of it....playing time...not happy about it----turned it up in practice and then get playing time...fumbled the ball---worked harder on keeping it protected get back into the system---missed blocking assignments--working with teo and others....this is what i like to see in a player....just because he came in here being highly recruited he didn't take the easy route and fold and transfer....he is going to be good!!!

Cierre is young....he is developing well....learning the system and learning to be a complete back. Excited for his future...

I got to see him play a couple of times in HS

He and DJ Williams were quite a tandem in the back field. Probably the best of the many great DLS teams.

I say he breaks for over 50 yards this weekend. Yeah, I said it. With AA banged up, Wood should see the bulk of carries. He look real good last week.

I think that Cierre was trying to get Kelly's attention and put a smile on his face. Doubtless he did so. [probably on Manti's too]. That smile will stay on Coach's face as long as he blocks pass rushers---preferably the correct ones. We all know that he's going to figure out the running side---that's what he's terrific at. C'mon young man. Figure it out. It's that guy with bad intentions running at Dayne in the wrong uniform. He's probably not Manti nor Ian, so step up there and ride him out. Not getting it is the only thing that will keep you on the bench. And Irish Nation can use its next homerun hitting back.

MJD is a bonafide stud. He's a little dude out there battling lions, and kicking *** while doing it. Tebow gets credit for having the 'right attitude' but MJD has the right attitude, and he kicks *** on the field as well.

Cierre is a class act. He stood up and said he has areas of his game that are lacking and that he underestimated the importance of details b/c in high school he could simply use his athleticism to beat the opposition. How many guys in his position sulk and feel the coach is picking on them? Plenty! But Cierre understands he is no longer the big fish in a small pond...with his ability and his attitude (and some more one on one with Manti) I think he will be a big fish in the big pond sooner rather than later.

p.s. Yet another reason to thank our lucky stars Manti Te'o came to play at Notre Dame...the guy makes time to help his team mates all the time...how many times do you hear players saying Manti helped me with or I talked to Manti about...?

Yeah you hear guys talk about how Manti just inspires others just by being around him. I cannot wait to see how Cierre does this weekend. I am very impressed with this kid's maturity and heart. I'll be rooting hard for him come this Saturday. He is doing the little things that will make him better.

MJD and Williams in HS at DLS

MJD and Williams in HS at DLS

were like men among boys. Thunder and lightening. The key ingredients in the best HS football team I have ever seen, better than Lynn Swann's Serra teams.

People forget how taleented that De La Salle team was too. Darnell Bing, Mercedes Lewis, Hershell Dennis and Winston Justice. All talking about how they were gonna destrot De La Salle. MJD beat them almost single handedly, (DJ was gone when they played)
