He wants to stay cose to home, but believe me its something about these Florida schools that bugs the crap out of me. He really does love Notre Dame though, its ashame. If I werent moving to South Bend, Aaron would stay here in Florida, he told me that yesterday.

Hoprfully Prestwood comes back but its tough after someone decommits. Just make sure Lynch stays on board, Prestwood will work itself out

That's a bummer he wants to stay close to home. Those kinds of feelings are pretty non-negotiable.

I wish him the best of luck wherever he ends up. I'll pray for him to have a good career and make the NFL so he doesn't have to fall back on a Florida/FSU/Miami football degree.

Well said, one reason i prefer this site is because there aren't too many nutjobs bashing the kids like other sites. He has great talent and i'll root for him. (unless he plays us of course)

I can understand staying close to home.... but it's not like home won't be there after three/four years and a degree from Notre Dame is a hell of a lot stronger than ANY degree you can get in the state of Florida... very short sighted move in all honesty... but that's part of being young... you have to make these kind of mistakes before you can learn from them,... problem is this is not one of those ones you can do over... it's a massive decision in the wrong direction.

It's probably a girlfriend thing. That almost always leads to a decision you regret later on...

my college roomate had a full ride to ASU for golf of all things... he turned it down for a partial to Cal St. San Bernardino because his girlfriend talked him into staying close to home...

THE WEEK classes started she left him for some dude in her dorm.

I know... It happens to so many people. My roommate in prep school left school for a girl. Good guy, but not the smartest guy.

if he stays in Florida lets pray he goes with Skip Holtz and Co.

I know that they aren't on his radar that I know of, but it would be nice

"The recruiting process is over for me," Prestwood said. "This is more than a verbal commitment. My decision is final. I will not be recruited anymore."

Reading that quote a while back made me 100% positive on Jordan being in this class come signing day. Just shows you though, he's a kid and kids can be easily influenced by those around them. I think he really meant what he said about being committed to ND. But after months of people in his ear, he starts second guessing his decision. Moma Lynch knows the feeling all to well, unfortunately it's a part of recruiting these days.

As I get older I know life is a journey, I have lived several places and I always think it is better when you see the big picture, hopefully Jordan still can see that picture if he looks at ND again. Best wishes either way

Its not a girlfriend thing doofis.

I was just trying to make the point that I have seen guys turn down amazing opportunities for girls they never ended up with when it's all set and done. If you really love someone, you embrace the situation.

That being said, I agree that we forget that these are just teenagers and they are easily influenced. It is hard to understand college football recruiting without having experienced it. My bet is, it is a little more overwhelming then college hockey recruiting lol.

Miss Lynch, any insights on the decision of Jordan?

So we get the Atkinson twins,Tuitt, and DaVaris in the middle of a 3 game losing streak and lose Prestwood and Rudolph(for the season)right when the team is on the verge of making a run.

This might explain the recent offer of Nick Martin. Perhaps the coaching staff could sense this coming along.

To young Mister Prestwood: Have a good life and a good career. When I was coming to Notre Dame, I wasn't positive either, and it was 500 miles away. When I got there, I was surer that it was the place, even though I wasn't at all sure of whether I'd picked the right thing to study. When I graduated, I found out that not only was it the right place, but that I couldn't have missed whatever I'd picked to study. Because it was Notre Dame. We'll miss you, young man; and we'll miss cheering for you in The Golden Helmet. Follow your heart, but come back to us if you can. Prestwood would be a fine name for a lad walking the path in Irishland.

Well, this really sucks coming home to this news.

Having said that, welcome to the world of recruiting. We complain when kids decommit from ND, and yet we're elated when they decommit from someone else to come to us (T Jones, Tate Nichols, just to name 2 from last year). It happens. Yes, it sucks b/c he's a beast of a player and a perfect spread lineman, and yes, he said he was 100% committed. You know who said that last year? Chris Martin. He has now been 100% committed to 3 different schools. Happens all the time. If Prestwood wants to leave ND behind for that lying scumbag Urban Liar, so be it.

And the truth is...we'll probably lose another one or two and gain a couple from other schools. That's the way the game works, sadly.

The guys I don't want to lose are the defensive studs, namingly Lynch, Tuitt, Rabasa, and Councell. The corners too. Hell, all of them. We get attached and we hate for them to leave, but it happens.

I for one hope he still comes to ND. We can never have too many players of his ilk...

No reason to speculate. Hope he comes back.

But, this is the recruiting thing. NDinL.A. is right. We don't complain when a kid ditches another team for Notre Dame...we don't get to bash them when they leave a commitment to us.

Again, hope he comes back.
