i was at the lsu game this weekend and ray drew was there.

long story short: he had a GREAT time. i looked at him occasionally and each time he had a HUGE smile on his face. he was doing all the LSU fan-cheers, even put on a LSU hat at one point which a fan gave him. LSU fans are pretty hardcore, so this is unsurprising, but drew definitely loved his visit. most LSU "insider" guys i talk with while tailgating believed he was a long shot but after this weekend most are convinced he will be a tiger. just passing along some info...tifwiw...

It will be interesting to see what happens if he makes a visit to South Bend.

He has taken his first visit to LSU and said he really enjoyed his time.

I hope he sticks with it and makes the trip to South Bend. I think the Utah weekend will be his best bet. ESPN and Rivals do not mention the Irish and Ray Drew together at all. We did not make his top six that he put out last month. Alford has been in recent contact with Ray and obviously re-sparked his interest.

He has shut off his recruiting and his interviews until after the season. He is a good friend of Stephon and now there is a vacancy on the line so we'll see. Tough pull out of the southeast but I said that about Stephon also.

Drew would be huge, more than replace Lynch. I wish there was more news on this front and we had something more to go on than random speculation.

No big surprise I guess that we did not make his finalist. Would have been a big get, but he really was a long shot from the start.

Blue and Gold Illustrated are saying a possible official visit is in the works. Its on their forum and I'm not a member. His name continues to stick around ever since Tuitt came on board. Just getting him on campus would be huge.

FWIW a Michigan recruiting site reported this as his facebook status..."top schools that ive seen.......UGA, AUBURN,FLORIDA.CLEMSON,TENEESSEE,LSU........top schools that i havent seen but would like to NOTRE DAME, UCLA, and Michigan"

Georgia has some of the most underrated high school football in the country! We used to recruit it very hard....

This kid is top top top end talent. Wish he was at least coming to the Army game, that's going to be a big moment for recruiting. Can we not get him and Tuitt to come visit the campus together or at least come to the Army game together?

New York is a long way from Georgia. Recruits can't use this game as an official visit.
