Our biggest problem is that our special teams are atrocious!!!!

Why not play a zone FG play there?

A little bad coaching but it's something that could have only happened 1 out of 100 times.

I hear ya, Chris....we've just been saying it for so long. Other than Sparty in '06, how many of these stunners have gone our way? We will be the lead story on Sportscenter ALL NIGHT. I hate the state of Michigan, and I lived there for 21 years. It aches me to lose to scUM and Farty more than anyone....even SC....

I hate having to wail about crappy officiating because we couldn't get the job done with "superior" talent. (that said, fake FG didnt get off in time.........where's the challenge flag!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I'm beyond pissed and a little deflated now. But it is what it is, and we should not expect miracles. I want us to win every game, but it will never happen. The thing that makes me so upset tonight..., we lose the close hard battle games. Almost EVERY single time. I look forward to the day where we get it done. How are we getting better? Defense is exposed on the edge. We have inconsistancy at QB. Our big time receiver is still unknown in this offense.

well, i remember last week how everyone was unjustified in breaking down, but now the **** has hit the fan and were gunna see BK get tossed under the bus by the media, have the F[_]CKING play on every time we play on ESPN, and IF, not when anymore, IF BK wins a championship, it will be with a handful if ANY of these current players. what im saying is, its not gunna be 2010, its not gunna be 2011, its gunna be beyond that, u know when we start playing Miami, Texas, Oklahoma, and those other schools annually. Keep the faith irish, but dont go praying for miracles, they dont happen around these parts anymore. bottom line, ND cannot win close games, will they go 1-12 NO will we see them in a bowl? probably, did they improve? yes, enough? NO, can dayne crist leave a winning legacy at ND? Doubtful, can BK win an NC at notre dame? YES will he? Not soon. keep hanging in there fans, its gunna be another long season, there will be ups, but likely more downs, and who knows what the future holds, but this ND team is not ready, i dont blame BK for whatever will happen this year, as far as im concerened this is a free pass, but next year and beyond, when he has HIS recruits on campus, its gunna be on HIM. We got outplayed, outcoached, and out thought every step of the way. Yes, we got better. But, if you all think that is enough fine. But, it isn't. If building a culture of getting better is good enough--it may be for other teams but we are ND. So, we breading a culture of losing and getting beat at the last second is what we want--then we are doing it. We did it last year, and now it has continued this year. The culture is losing, and moral victories suck. We need to fix this and fix it now! Accepting loses isn't acceptable. Saying we are getting better is unacceptable. Fix it and win. we had chances the last two game to make this 3-0 and can fix it. But, we got outcoached and outplayed. Now, BK is the perfect guy for the job. But, he got outsmarted by two coaches. Now he needs to get better too.

It is just too bad we are going to be sub 500 most likely. I hope the kids get better, and the Irish Nation will be proud. I for one can't wait until Lynch, Tuitt, and the Twins get here We sure could use them right now.

It's not about jumping off the bandwagon. Obviously we are all bigtime fans, otherwise we wouldn't be here. Its about winning football games. Like so many other said, enough with the moral victories. We've had 22 years of them. It's about winning games. Period. It's not like we were playing Boise State, or Alabama. Then I would accept this loss as a moral victory. For a team with much to prove this is nothing more than another setback.

Dude give me a break, crist was NOT great he was good. What were you proud of exactly I mean are you just throwing things at the wall. How are we getting better and better? I mean I am glad you are a positive fan and all for sure but I just see no evidence of what you are claiming. I would be proud of our guys if they beat a team that they were less talented than not because they lost to a team who overall IMO is less talented.

We don't cause turnovers, we can't run the ball, we can't contain basic running backs from getting the edge..............not alot to like. We also have a qb that does not know how to lead receivers on deep passes. I would like to know specifics that make you take this stance .

I am SO GOD DAMN sick of hearing NC mentioned. We are a below average football program that gets out executed by almost every team we play on a yearly basis for over a decade now. The last bowl game that we have won in about a decade is the Aloha bowl. We are so far away from talking about a nc that is really quite sad that folks still bring that up and really, as long as we read about other programs getting major recruits dude to academic ineligibility then it will NEVER EVER EVER be possible to honestly consider that again. I mean can you fathom us ever being able to compete with a top SEC team? LOLOL that is like saying that the US soccer team needs to do this and that to win a aworld cup with this and that being the ability to add brazilian mid fielders.

didn't crist throw for 360+ yards?? and two TD's w/one INT? how's that getting worse compared to the first two game's stats?? granted, he still needs to work on his long ball, but how many dropped balls did we have tonite??? like six or seven??

i agree, we have issues on defense and i'm not happy with 'em, but did they not hold msu when it truly counted in OT. special teams let us down, plain and simple when they were not ready for the fake field goal.

i believe this team will get better under bk. it may be immediately evident.

Yes, I do think that we can do things right and it won't keep us from EVER EVER winning a NC.

And we have pretty freaking talented players. Are you telling me that some SEC programs wouldn't love to have Manti, Nix, Floyd, Crist, Jones...etc... And never mind next years players.

Do we have a lot of steps in-between now and then. YES. But just because the road's hard doesn't mean you get off.

I just think people should be more understanding of student athletes that are really no more than kids. Kids who got robbed today by some bad calls. Kids who are playing their asses off for a new coach who, less than three weeks into the season, some people are already ready to write off.

I think it would be healthier for everyone if people tried to use some perspective on what has really occurred over the past couple weeks: two very close games that likely would have gone our way were it not for an injury to our QB in one instance and suspect officiating in the other. We are not losing to Nay, Syracuse, UConn, etc. by our own incompetency and nothing more.

The breaks are breaks and sometimes they don't go your way. It happens. I'll try to be less critical of people venting but I seriously dread the thought of a player reading some of these threads. Some "fans" are downright brutal and depressing with their words.

Haha, definitely hit up the lax forums while you were playing, didn't you. The D3 hockey boards made for some pretty thin gruel, but reading everything any random dude with a keyboard said about our team was everybody's guilty secret when I was playing.

I was sitting there watching the play clock read " 0" yet no one said anything about it. I don't believe the refs lose a game for you, but when we called for worst block in the back call since Rocket Ismail then they snap the ball almost a second after the play clock expired I have to wonder WTF?
