Good luck getting the geriatric center around midfield to wear green over their sweaters.

Rumors are not rumors anymore; in his press conference BK stated that we would wear Green for the Army game in Yankee stadium, but that was about it. I think everyone in the stands should wear GREEN TO EVERY GAME THIS YEAR!

Eenie meanie, chili beanie... it'll be bad luck to not wear any greenie.

Maybe we can buy some green lobster bibs in bulk for the geriatric set?

I was thinking more like Kelly Green Snuggies for all the old folk.

This needs to get some traction in a hurry.

On Sportscenter today there was a segment called "GREEN OUT", and I got really excited. Sadly, it was about A.J. Green.

I like the way you think, though this evokes a long lost memory. Oh, wait, post #19 in this thread seems familiar:

Here's whatcha need ... hand out inexpensive (biodegradable paper, of course) green bibs – like the ones you get at a lobster restaurant.

In the spirit of the "discourse," all those geriatrics should be used to wearing bibs to catch the drool. Even if they don't stand and shout they'll still be green.

As far as Snuggies go, not a bad idea if it's a cool or cold day; and clear and sunny. Not so much if it's raining. If you think we old farts are slow in "street" clothes on a clear day, see what happens when 3 yards of fleece and 70 lbs. of absorbed rain water are added to the mix.

I repeat: when you can ensure that there are 10,000 rabid students, 40,000 still rabid young alums, 10,000 hale, hardy, spry and vocal older alums as well as 5,000 "true believer" locals in the stands the volume in the stadium ain't gonna be to our liking. [If the arithmetic gives you pause, I ceded 5,000 seats to opposing fans in my calculations.]

Keep up the assault on your elders (RESPECT YOUR ELDERS!) and I'll be forced to rub used (Kelly Green) Depends™ on your respective heads ...

Cough ... hack ... ACK, siddown, shuddup an' call 911!!!

I did receive a response from the Alumni Association:

Thanks for your note. We are trying to spread the word -- through social media. We've posted the Green Out on the Alumni Association's Facebook page and asked the Bookstore and Athletics to help promote the concept. Some of our communications for the Michigan game were already set last week, so we missed a few opportunities to market the green out. But, we'll continue to market it today and tomorrow.

Rain, rain go away! GREEEEEEEEEEEEN OUT!

Agreed. The gold seat crowd needs to come through. How many people in the stands on Saturday cannot afford a $15 shirt?

I've got a good feeling.......

Alright, now THIS is my last post. Thanks to any and all that helped spread the word. I know military sent an email to SBT, Great Dayne started the "Official" petition, I reached out to the Alumni Association and sent in a question to the radio show and bombarded FB.

Not that I necessarily think that WE made this happen (ok, I do), but the passion of IrishEnvy is the epitome of what ND is all about. Rain is supposed to let up after lunch, so you may see that "Sea of Green" after all.

This is gonna happen. I'm jacked.

Hitting the road in 30. Go Irish.

Lucky bastard. I'm jealous. The only green you will really see will be the student section. A green out will NEVER happen in our laid back stadium. It would be cool though.
