After what I saw yesterday, if I were Mich I would load the box and make Crist beat me, If I were ND I would load the box and make Robinson beat me. It’s that simple.

i understand robinson had a good game, but why are people suddenly going absolutely nuts about this?

I dont think anyone is going nuts but he did look impressive and its something we have to prepare for. I dont think he should be put on any kind of Heisman watch but he looked much improved. It just means that our coaching staff is going to have to make weekly improvements with this team and I believe they will do just that.

The fact that Robinson looked like an actual QB against a pretty good team. Plus Robinson is more athletic then marve and marve's mobility gave the notre dame defense problems

Honestly, I'm less scared about this game than the Purdue game.

I LOVE the matchup of our WRs vs. the entire secondary of Michigan. This may be a major shootout... but I like what I saw last week vs. Purdue.

If Floyd doesn't fumble on the 1, the game is completely different. Purdue has to air it out more... we tee off on them with the pash rush...

Long story short, i think we outscore Michigan.

I have been thinkinbg about the Michigan game....if we contain Denard and pop him in the mouth he will not be that effetive. Manti and Carlo will come up and hit him...now hopefully Filer and Neal keep contain ... because Denard will not want to come up the middle because he will get hit...I think ND offence will dominate Michigan's D....

I think they'll be prepared for Robinson, but remember Forcier is still in their gameplan. Preparing for both can be difficult, especially if the OLB's play like they did against Purdue. I think the secondary has a big game...but the fate will be determined by the play of the LB's. Michigan will definitely put playaction on the table this week.

Some food for thought.

1) Rich Rod knows how to beat Edsall (UCONNS Coach) He owned him while at WV.

2) UCONN had no idea who to prepare for. DRob or TForcier.

My thoughts and a dollar can buy you a cup of coffee . . .

1. If Robinson consistently puts up numbers like he did on Saturday, he definitely merits consideration for the Heisman.
2. BK has said all along, the first thing the team has to learn is how not to lose. I don't think they are there yet (hence the scary moments yesterday), but when the light comes on, look out. Let's hope it's in 6 days.
3. BK > RR.
4. ND talent > UM. Now get them to execute.
5. I don't think ND has shown maybe 10% of their capability within BK's offense. Conversely, I think Michigan has already shown 70% of what they are capable of. After all, it's Year 3 of the Rodriguez era. Game prep edge goes to ND.
6. QBs are susceptible in spread offenses, though I think the risk of Denard getting hurt is greater than Dayne getting hurt. But is Montana / Rees > Gardner / Forcier? I don't think so.
7. Turnovers and penalties. The great unknown that (IMHO) have as much an impact on a game as spectacular individual plays. And often comes down to who is better coached / more disciplined. Nod to ND.

I expect it to be a nailbiter, but in the second half we are going to witness BK imparting faith and confidence into the soul of the team in an unforgettable performance of historic significance. That's why

WE ARE ND ! ! !

Just watched the Michigan UConn replay.

1. UConn's offense was awful. Frazier was on point, but his receivers sucked and kept dropping wide open passes. The game would have been different if the receivers could catch the ball.

2. Denard Robinson is a very good player. He can run and pass the ball. However, he is a one man show. The receivers are nothing spectacular and RB Shaw was nothing special either. We stop Robinson --> we stop Michigan's offense. Easier said than done tho.

3. UConn never got any pressure on Robinson throughout the game. If we can get pressure on him on pass plays, he may be forced into mistakes. It remains to be seen how Robinson reacts to pressure in the pocket.

4. I'm expecting us to shred apart Michigan's defense. They didn't look very good. UConn's 10 points is a testament to UConn beating themselves more than the defense stopping them.

5. This game is definitely a toss up. I really don't know what the outcome will be.

I wouldn't be surprised if we played a lot of nickel D to get more speed out on the field.

Tate Forcier's dad denies QB is leaving Michigan - NCAA Football - Sporting News

9/4

The father of Michigan backup quarterback Tate Forcier insisted Saturday that his son is not leaving the program.

"There's no way I'm going to be any part of him leaving Michigan," Mike Forcier told The Associated Prees in a telephone interview.

Mike Forcier was responding in part to a cryptic quote by his son after the Wolverines' season-opening 30-10 victory over Connecticut. Michael Rothstein of The Ann Arbor News quoted Tate Forcier as saying: "All you need to know is I'm out."

During the game, television cameras showed Tate Forcier hiding his face in a towel and avoiding coach Rich Rodriguez. In fact, Mike Forcier accused the media of trying to create a controversy.

"Tate was upset he didn't play, then he felt like a caged animal getting prodded by the media," his father said.

I said before that I thought we'd split ND and UConn due to the way that we would play to your strengths and weaknesses.

UConn is a more straight forward running team with what was supposed to be a decent passing game. We were able to more or less shut them down for most of the first half, save one drive, and their receivers did us some favors. But our D line was able to get pressure on their QB, Mike Martin required constant double teams which opened up holes for Roh to get through. When they did make a catch our secondary was quick to make the tackle, so that was encouraging. Over all we played better than most thought we would.

On Offence our line was able to make holes for DR to run through, Shaw and Smith were able to make good runs most of the day as well. And one point your missing is that DR was 19 for 22, and those weren't little outs. And like ND we were not forced to show much of our playbook, so I think we'll see two different animals this Saturday.

But to sum us up in fewer words I would say we lived up to the billing on offence and might of been better than expected on D.

Keep in mind that Uconn lost BOTH of their starting DE's for the season during fall camp. So that may have had something to do with it. Oh and we have pretty good and fast DE's. I have us losing this game but of course I have us losing every game. :)

They did, but most of DR's runs were up the middle so it was more moving the tackles than running around DE's. But you're right I expect more of a challenge from ND all around.

I'll see if I can find a stat for the runs.

Seventeen runs out of 26 up the middle---can anyone say "Te'o and Calabreese"?

Im man enough to say it, I get excited about the possibilities of 5 and 44 working together. and the graphic of denard robinsons run chart makes it all the better.

But I kinda think that Forcier will play against ND, at the very least see some action. He had a big game against ND last year, and I see no reason, unelss he is REALLY in the doghouse, to keep him out of this game.

It is highly doubtful that Tate will see the field. Right now everyone in America is practically ready to hand D. Robinson the Heisman. Unless Manti and Carlo break both his legs or he comes out and throw 5 picks in the first half, hes not coming out.
Also, Tate is not even second on their depth chart judging by Gardner getting the nod when Robinson went down. They're not just going to play Tate based on one play he made last year against the Irish. You may disagree but those are my thoughts.
