Halftime observations:

1. Dayne Crist = Good. Keeping it safe (aside from that awful throw/decision on the near pick). Great arm strength. Downfield throws are good.

2. Running game is good. Allen and Wood have been great. Blocking is not incredible, but there are holes.

3. Receivers and tight ends are fine.

4. The draw is killing us. We've done a great job on straight-forward runs. Quarterback runs are a problem. Robinson could be a pain in the ass.

5. Pass defense is good? Damn, I love what I'm seeing for the most part. Gray and Walls have looked good.

6. Te'o needs to tackle. Three misses, right now.

7. Riddick needs work on his hands.

Loving the Diaco Defense and I can't say enough about what Martin has down with our CB's. Walls and Gray look like different guys.

Crist is a bit inconsistent, but overall I'm pleased. Running game looks explosive. I wish we'd get Floyd involved a bit more. I understand that they are taking away the deep ball, but why not get him some screens and short slants and watch their inexperienced DB's try and tackle the big guy?

The defense is what I'm very impressed with. The game isn't over, and even if we blow them out in the second half, it's only one game. Kelly's legacy is not cemented no matter the outcome of this game, or even this season.

Over all good first half I like what I've seen out of the D. Although I would like to see a little more pressure on the roll out passes. Purdue's QB looks most comfortable when he is rolling out. Lets fix that linebackers.
