Notre Dame fans have been called "arrogant, self righteous, beer guzzling, and my favorite, fat guy worshiping jesus heads" (seriously you cant make this stuff up) As far as other college teams go, who has the nicest, or not so nicest fans? Keep it PG-13 were not out to dish on other CFB fans, just want to know what kind ofexperiences you've had with other fans either at ND stadium, in another stadium or out in the world. As always Have At It Irish Fans!

Every fan base have its good and bad fans. From a personal level I despise Illini fans and (I hate to keep bringing up my high school days on this board) but ill tell you why. Illini fans remind me of the fans at my high school. Basketball is number 1 football sucks and should be cut to add more money to the huge basketball fund. However when the football team has a good year EVERYONE who knocked the team the year before when the season was not so good talk about how they have loved and supported the football team for years.

Thats what Illini fans make me think of in 07 the upset Ohio State and go to the rose bowl and Illini fans in my area talk about how they love illini football and they have supported it since zook came and what have you. The next year they go 5-7 and when you wear your ND gear they knock you because the basketball team sucks when you tell them that youre more of a fan of the football team THESE SAME FANS talk about how college football sucks and Illini football is meaningless and basketball is all that matters. I have nothings agaisnt Illini sports but to me when im surrounded by illini fans like that it just turns me off the the whole university

I do not believe I require any further evidence necessary to state my hatred for anything and everything Michigan.

Well, fans are rather generic I'd say, as a one time visitor to many venues across the country. Maybe it depends on beer sales.

Best and most memorable experience was when I visited in El Paso Texas about 25 or so years ago and UTEP hosted a highly ranked Georgetown team (basketball). The crowd was electric and standing the entire game. The pep band was out of this world. Once UTEP had the game in hand with minutes to go, the pep band led the crowd to the loudest chant of AMEN for about 10 minutes non-stop. I think the chant could be heard as far as New Mexico (which is about a mile away from UTEP's campus). The place went berserk with the singing of the song and dancing in the seats. What struck me even more was the clean fun and loudest most raucous singing that almost blew my ears out.

Just out of curiosity, I did a look-up to see if I could find any footage on the UTEP- Georgetown game. I found a clip. Apparently Georgetown was #2 according to computer rankings, and UTEP was 80 sumsin. No need to watch the entire video, but check out starting at 3:30 of the video, then again at 4:45 for power ratings and Tim Hardaway, 5:15 for the start of AMEN!!! 5:30 "This is UTEP's answer to lighting up the cigar"... 7:38 the pep band kicking it up again.

This video does no justice to the decibel level at the game.

Holy shit. Can't believe I found this. Fans were actually singing AMEN! through the halls, out the doors, and up the street. I was there!

Hey johnnykilz, I am a SoCal valley dude gypsy, lived on the right coast and left coast, but I would not mind retiring in about 50 years in your area. El Paso is the #2 safest city in the country, most lovely ladies and friendly folks. Frikken sold out a Dallas Cowboy scrimmage game in seconds at the Sun Bowl. Should host a FIFA World Cup game next time US hosts. El Paso combined with Juarez (the original El Paso del Rio Del Norte) would sell out in seconds.

This is ND coach Boob Davie's take on a game he was covering when they showed a couple getting frisky - "They look like they're having fun."

That you, as a deer, you have big ass, twitchy and highly sensitive ears played no role in this episode?
I drove Santa's sleigh a bit quicker that winter. And I sang pretty loud at that game.

It was the absolute LOUDEST game of any sport I have ever attended.

#81 defeats #2? You don't think that might get loud?

It put the Judas Priest/Dokken concert to shame as far as decibel levels. This one went to 11.

By the way, I worked one or two or them concerts backstage. Cool stuff.

Posu fans are by far the worst! they think college football has only existed in the woody hayes era and the tressel era while every other era in college football is meaningless. even though the only things most of them know about the woody era is all the anecdotal shit about him running out of gas in michigan because he wouldnt go to a gas station from the "state up north" and all that other woody bullshit. also, their constant need to talk up the big ten as a legit top to bottom conference is the absolute annoyance! yea bro, playing indiana is alot better than playing navy or uconn!{sarcasim} oh and who lost to purdue last????

Living here in Ohio I would have to say that Buckeye fans are the worst, but then again I have to deal with them everyday during the season.

TEXAS A&M fans are the worst... I know countless amounts of them, if you go to a game, the atmosphere is electric at Kyle field, but they are morons. They all do cheers, and pretend they are in the military, ask you to take off your "cover" during silly little chants where they put their hands on their knees and call it Humping it. (no joke). I have respect for the university itself, and the students that attend...but they think they have the greatest football tradition in the world....with 1 national championship Ever. It was like 1959 I think...truly an exercise in false tradition.

I was also at that Sugar Bowl... my Ex Wife who was about 5ft tall 98lbs almost got into a brawl with the LSU fans below us. They were chanting Tiger Bait, and she said why don't you try and Graduate.... a LSU lady threw a beer at us.... I had to hold my ex back. The LSU girl's date looked terrified.....ha...CLASSIC

Where I live I would have to say the K-State fans are the worst, I say this b/c I too hate Mizzou fans (in general-have a lot of friends/family in these categories) but you can count on Mizzou fans to back their team at all times, crazy and delusional maybe, but very loyal. K-State fan on the other hand, are invisible when their team is bad, and then when they have some success there is purple clothing EVERYWHERE, drives me nuts. After that though the fans I can say I truly despise and want to fight are the bandwagon guys. For an example a dude I went to high school w/ in KANSAS who has lived here his whole life is a Yankees, Lakers, Miami Hurricanes, Chiefs, and KU-Basketball fan. (another terrible trait imo, picking different teams in different sports.) Next year he will LOVE the Miami Heat.

Since I work across the street from SC...for me SC fans are the worst. The actual students that I work with are great. It's the rich pricks (ND has our share of those too) and the Raider fans/johnny-come-lately fans that kill me.

My wife went to her first game at the Coliseum 4 yrs ago with her old friends from ND and were told some vile, unprintable/reprehensible things just walking through the parking lot. She was actually scared...and these girls were NOT saying a word or looking for trouble. Thank God I wasn't there. And at the SC game in '07 in SB, she almost got into it with some complete bimbos who were egging her on (I've NEVER seen her even look at anyone wrong, so these whores really pissed her off...you should have seen them - they were L.A. bimbos out of cetral casting, excpet they were 40 yrs old. They didn't know a football from a beach ball). I saw their fat husbands in the parking lot of all places like an hour later and almost got into with them. Ugh.

The best part of SC fans now is that they think the world is out to get them, esp ESPN and any print media that dares say one bad work against them. They conveniently forget that Shelley Smith basically set up camp outisde of Heitage Hall for 6 years and was their own personal reporter. Now they HATE her because she is reporting the negative stuff that has beeen happening (THE NERVE OF HER. doing her job like that!).

I could go on and on about SC and their badwagon fans. I'll leave you with this. In Pete Carroll's first game ever at SC, they played San Jose State in front of an announced crowd of 40,000 (on opening day!!!). Last year, again vs. San Jose St, they had 80,000 fans. You do the math. Oh, and I had tickets, but I gave them to a buddy who just moved here from Kansas. He said more than half the crows was gone by half-time of the blowout. He was shocked at their disinterest, even though I warned him it was the exact opposite of Missouri games. That's the way their fans are...

Ohio State fans are horrible, too. I've heard tales of fans spitting on elderly Michigan couples at the Shoe. I do admit it was hilarious seeing Michigan Stadium half-filled with scarlet last year.

I utterly despise Wisconsin fans with a passion along with Mich. Something about Wisconsin fans makes me want to punch them in the face.

Agree completely. Add Nebraska fans to that list as well. Also, not to be too much of a homer, but some Tennessee fans who were at the game in SB a number of years ago, were amazed at how polite everyone was to them. They said they had never been treated anything like that in SEC stadiums.

Utep fans are indeed money... this is a TEXAS town, and when the Longhorns played UTEP in the Sun Bowl two years back polls throughout the city showed 80% plus of th city had UTEPs back over UT.... and they really back their tam man, especially considering how bad they tend to be...

Nebraska fans are the best in my experience... even when they dominated they were damn respectful... They are the cream of the cfb crop imo...

the worst??? the tOSU, Bama, and Tennesse fan bases each have a giant complex and each tend to give ND the majority of their issues for whatever reasons... it's curious because when do we really ever play those teams? We do(or have), but it is not too frequent...each of those three have major step child, pretentious, straight up bitter aspects within the majority of their die hards...

Living close to SC like NDinLA I would mention SC fans, but really they don't exist... they talk shit like crazy, they act like they have been life long fans, but they don't know who Anthony Davis, Carson Palmer, and or Rodney Pete is.... so they aren't really fans... just stupid ass LA/Hollywood insider wanabes who think rooting for SC is the "in" thing to do...

Someone also mentioned A&M... I would put them up on the best list.... seriously, die hard, loyal and I have not encountered too much anger or bitterness out of the Aggie fans... my two cents.

I live in LA too and there are a lot of SC bandwagons. There is no getting away from them yet I find myself wanting to punch Charger fans the most. If there was an SC fan and a Charger fan in front of me and I had a 2x4 I would smash the Charger fan over the head with the 2x4 and then kick the SC in the gonads, then pee on both of them.

really? The only explaination for the violence in your post and your hatred for Charger fans is that you are a Raider fan.... right?
