Freeman at ISD said Invasion this year was the worst camp he’s ever seen from an organizational standpoint and people not doing their jobs. I can’t tell if he’s just upset they were basically locked out from viewing anything or if he’s being truthful.

Eric Thomas said media didn’t get to see as much this year, and didn’t get to see any 1v1. I’d guess Freeman’s comments stem from Notre Dame making him sad.

The media always throws a dumper when their access gets limited. Because the camp is all about them after all.

Not really. It's about providing exposure to the kids and then covering the camp bc there are thousands of folks who pay for information about the camp.

By preventing us from seeing the two most important parts of camp, testing and 1-on-1s, we saw individual drills, which is what we report on during a 4-period practice viewing and we all know there's nothing of substance there.

That's why the media isn't pleased with what we got.

And selfishly, ISD flew in Jamie Uyeyama, IrishIllustrated flew in Eric Thomas and BGI flew in Mike Singer for a camp where we saw less than a four-period practice viewing. That's not ideal for anyone involved.

I believe Freeman doesn't see much value in the local media besides giving access for the usual weekly press conference. And the once a year "behind closed doors" table talk that he's been doing the last year or two. Yes, he does a good job of making players, positional coaches, coordinators available during spring ball and summer camp, but he's pushed back or greatly limited access for practices, camps, scrimmages etc.

Quite frankly, he's looking at the national media more, which to be honest, maybe has helped elevate his own brand and the programs, too.

NDs camp is for, at least should be, ND to evaluate players. Not to give kids national exposure to other programs. Go to a Rivals camp or a mega camp if you’re there to get your highlights tweeted out or interest from other programs. That’s what those events exist for.

I assume anyone ND wants to have access to the entire camp, got access to the entire camp.

Has an interesting physique for a tackle, thin top and bottom, with a bit of a belly. Landow has some work to do there. Dude is rocking the poindexter look with those glasses, and has a good gpa. Another brainy Lambert type?

He is a sophomore. That can be changed in a year. Can’t teach that length and athleticism

Points on both sides have merit, imo. The real loser in the limitation is we 'crootin fans missing out on nuggets of the up and comers.
