The Onye injury doesn't bother me much. He'll be healed up and ready to go by summer. Obviously you never want to see a guy get hurt, but I am excited to see some of the younger guys (Burgess, Brewu, Gray and Mukam for example) get extended reps

4/1 presser comments that jumped out to me.
  • Seems really high on Nolan James. Powerful.
  • Asked about Micah Gilbert & Cam Williams, Freeman did not elaborate on Cam in his answer. Instead, briefly discussed Gilbert and went to the WR room as a whole. Interesting.
  • Pleased with Will Black.
  • Happy to hear him discuss the intentional pairings on the OL. Not playing musical chairs.

The problem of Jags being healthy and good enough to insert on the OL this year is a problem I'd love to have.

On the OLine "problem"--> since Jagusah can play ANY of the positions except center, if he gets healthy and I'm Rudolph, I just say: who out there are already doing the best jobs? Craig/Otting equal the center position, but who rates 1/2/3/4 among the others? . "4"? take a rest for the moment. Let's see how things shake out. You could be right back in and Charles shifted elsewhere, but let's do this for now.

Onye’s in his sixth year, probably doesn’t need the reps

Yeah I actually just realized Premer is our highest rated Tight End commit in the modern recruiting era. Ended up a composite 5 star and the #1 TE in the country. Slightly higher than Mayer, Raridon, and Kyle Rudolph out of HS.

If he doesn’t play meaningful snaps it would be a surprise. Lot of natural talent between the Flanagans and him.

Between him and Mayer, Mayer was a 5⭐ and ended up ranked around #20-23 in the class behind the #2 TE prospect in History (Arik Gilbert).
