Every now and then I revisit these highlights just to remind myself of what we should be able to put on the floor at ND. I could be completely naive, but I don't think there's any good reason we can't construct a team like that in this current era (not saying 2015 should be the standard - that team was a perfect blend of a lot of pieces that is hard to replicate). But we should be able to put a team on the floor filled with players who stay in the program for a while and grow and develop. Yeah they'd have to spend some money to keep the players from transferring, but it's not like ND has no money to keep a roster together - they just can't shop at the top of the market.

Call me delusional, but it's embarrassing for ND to field ANY teams that are noncompetitive the way it feels like our basketball team has been for the greater part of the past decade.

I still remember back to 2018 when they announced that basketball would have new dedicated facilities. For years this was pointed to as something that had hamstrung the program. I remember feeling eager to see the program take off with a top notch facility. Oh well.

Peak Brey would have this current team playing top 25 basketball, end of discussion.

The fact that Coach offered his son a D1 scholarship but did not offer JR's brother Chase K a scholarship (I think Chase K is a better player than Nick Shrews) is all you need to know about our coaching situation.
They are on the same team, right? How do their stats compare?

Last year they were - JR's brother had better stats (and was regarded as a better player in rankings) when they played together. Chase is now at FGCU with JR (red-shirting it appears).

I don't see the Nick Shrews offer being merit based - but Chase wasn't anywhere near sniffing the level of the 4 guys that were brought in last year.

Win at BC and wrap this season up.

On paper next year's team is big dance worthy.

Hopefully the important guys on the team don't hop in the portal.

I can't anymore with this coach. I want to, I really do
I get it, coach Shrews hasn't lived up to his hype. A coaching change to me doesn't guarantee better results.

This team would be much better with Burton.

I would like to see some new blood on the coaching staff.

I'm not necessarily calling for the guys job but if they keep winning 14-15 games a year........well then would it be much worse to fire him and start over with anyone?? Like someone's grandmother could do a little better probably. 😂

Winning 14-15 games a year will do nothing for this program and if we are in the same situation this time next year I believe Shrews will be gone.

I was looking forward to the 2018 recruiting class with Prentiss Hubbs and overall that class didn't live up to expectations.

I think this year's freshman class has potential, those that have played have shown flashes of what they can do, and they can be better than the 2018 recruiting class.

I hope patience pays off.

Irish W and scoring over 63, for some chicken dinner.
Go Irish Beat BC
Was hoping BC would be a favorite but can’t touch this game w/ two shitty teams. ND always plays horribly at BC & the Eagles always play above their heads when hosting ND. ND should win which means they will lose by 10.

You’re not wrong.

Just need a little oomph to get at all excited for this game
