They're going to probably keep trying to get Simpson to back out of the draft and tamper with some other QB's who are not in the portal currently. Cristobal is scared to death of having to develop a QB that he actually recruited.

If Miami can get him to withdraw from the draft, Ty Simpson to Miami would make a lot of sense. Their experience adding a highly touted SEC QB has led them to the Natty game this year. I wouldn't be shocked to see them try to replicate the process by paying him big money to come back to college.

Also, if you give Simpson a running game I doubt he fades down the stretch. He turned a lot of heads at the beginning of the season.

If you're Simpson, you have to weigh that against what will be a substantially stronger QB class in next year's draft.

So the next school who offers, they have to pay that same amount. Even if he does a bad job. That means as long as he's offered by even one more school, he gets 6.5 more mil. Even if he does a bad job, they have to give him that other 6.5 mil.

His uncle was fired and then his brother decommitted and he bolted. The injury was just the scapegoat, but he wanted to go somewhere that has at least a recent history of developing QBs.
